Requested an invite. It's been too long without a Gamerscore League.

Furthermore, all games that have released since November 2013 and have been played by at least 3 members will have a platinum available. To earn a Platinum for a game a user must have at least 750 GS in that game and have the highest/joint highest GS in that game. Holding a platinum will be worth 5 points per retail game (anything with a physical release), and 3 per digital only release. To make things more interesting, if/when the first person reaches 1000 GS on any game under these guidelines, he/she will get double the regular platinum points, meaning 10 for full retail games, and 6 for digital only. Everyone who reaches 1000GS after that point can only attain, or get back to, the regular 5, and 3 points respectively. Tracking will not be retroactive, so platinums you may have acquired before the start of this league do not count.

Not quite sure if I got that right.

You get 3/5 points per platinum. Does it count only once (the month you achieved it), once at the end of the year or for every single month you hold the top spot within that game's gamerscore ranking?
Because if it's the latter, I'm note sure how fair that would be. If I platinumed a certain game that qualifies for this league (Nov 13 release and newer) I have no chance to ever get any points in that game, even if my score is higher than the person on the top spot.
Now what's if I already earned 995G in a game and then get 5G in March. Am I getting a platinum then, even though I did 99% of the work before the league even started?
Maybe consider giving people a point for digital only and two points for retail platinums when they already have the platinum. (of course only if they will be added to the total each month.)
Also what's with DLC?
Does only the original 1000G count or does it get higher than that if at least 3 members on the DLC?

Platinum points are cumulative, as they were in Kapi's league, though I think Kapi reset the points to zero at the end of the year, and I'm not sure whether or not I wanna do that yet at this point. Especially since I've increased the point minimum on the platinum requirement to make sure it's something people have to work harder for, so maybe that'll just be a constant that everyone has to show for themselves. We'll see when we cross that threshold of a whole year how everyone feels about that.

So no, it doesn't count 'once'...it counts has long as you have it, and gets subtracted in the event that you should lose it. DLC is essentially irrelevant in the process as of right now, as that just makes tracking the whole thing more of a hassle. If it takes somebody buying DLC to reach a platinum (750-1000 GS) that's fine, but of course somebody else might have already completed a game by the time that becomes a factor, so the completionists will always have the edge on the points bonus over those relying on DLC.

You do make a valid point about previous efforts on a game, and then just topping it off to start the league. I was going to just rule out anyone who'd already reached 750 or more GS on game from being eligible for that platinum, but perhaps it would be all around fairer, and easier tracking wise, to just limit games eligible for platinums to anything released from next month onward.
