I suspect they are having problems with the NX hardware and are delaying it in order to fix things. Also keeping the Wii U on the market an extra 12 months (as they honestly think people will buy the millions of unsold consoles) makes sense to them for some reason.
As another point, I can honestly see more Wii U games been delayed until 2017 to launch with the NX.
