The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
DS / Nintendo / 2009

This is a game that gets a lot of undeserved hate from the Zelda fanbase and it's something that bugs me. When I played the DS titles in the series, I have to say I really enjoyed them and I felt like they were much, much better than what people make them out to be - but while Phantom Hourglass suffered from a couple of terrible flaws that kept holding the game back, Spirit Tracks was awesome and enjoyable throughout. The dungeons, items and bosses are on par with the already stellar ones it's predecessor had (and maybe even better in several ways), but the game also boasts an incredible soundtrack and a much more compelling world in New Hyrule, as well as a story you can truly care about and a fantastic beginning and ending. Spirit Tracks was truly special.
