The Wii won the sales battle because it was innovative. It appealed to people who had never or rarely played games. Yes, it also appealed to Nintendo fans, but every Nintendo console ever made has done that, and the GameCube and N64 did not enjoy the Wii’s commercial success.
From the point of view of those new gamers, yes, the Wii has the best exclusive library. From the point of view of a hardcore Nintendo fan, it also has the best exclusive library. However, both of those categories are a minority on this site and other gaming websites.
I disagree on the first part. Not every Nintendo console accomplished that (appealing to Nintendo fans), hence why sales continued to drop every generation before the Wii bucked the trend.
I am not sure what you are trying to say in your second paragraph... Those people being minorities on gaming websites actually means that they are wrong? That would be like saying that a forum full of nutcases who say that the Earth is flat are right, because it's the opinion the majority of people visiting that very same website hold. There's just no way you meant to say something like this, so I guess what you said doesn't amount to much more than simple damage control. A silverstream on the horizon for 360 and PS3 fans. Yup.
