Predictions for Pokemon D/P 1st Week 2,100,000 This Year 4,700,000

In light of decreasing sales for the core series, I feel like the franchise has softened in recent years, so I think both estimates may be overly generous; my personal hunch is that D/P may debut near or below the million mark.

My 1st week sales are very high only FF8 & DQ8 had higher 1st week sales. I got the amount the following way: The last original Pokemon games released was R/S which sold 1,273 on a GBA userbase of 7 million. The DS is allready over 11 million, should be 11.3 next week at a guess. So 1,273 divided by 7 (GBA) = 181.857 per 1 million consoles times that by 11.3 (DS) = 2,054,987

Looks like your numbers were on the money -- early reports suggest all 2 million copies have already been sold through, along with 500,000 DS units. Congrats on some good forecasting.

OK. So the early reports were just a little exaggerated, meaning the final numbers will probably be closer to my estimate. Good to know.

Pokemon D/P has already sold 1,575,266. (Diamond ver 813,237 copies, Pearl ver 762,029 copies, data based on Media Create) I believe thats after 5 days.
