At least now people might actually play Xenoblade 1 I suppose.

For such an amazing game it was criminally underplayed back in the day due to Nintendo of America's bone-headed decision to give it a very late and limited release. It always deserved more exposure than it got.

Now Nintendo needs to remake Pandora's Tower, another game which is way underplayed and undervalued.

That's not Nintendo's game. Besides The Last Story deserves it most. PT was ok but I will always find it funny the official artwork for the main character is stolen Noctis art.

Play it after you play the remake. Ties in better this way. Not 100% needed but it is better to do for spoiler reasons. Add Torna to the list. Torna is short but best played after 2. That one for sure has to be played after 2.

Really? I was under the impression that the two games were totally unrelated plot-wise. I've (somehow) managed to avoid Xenoblade 1 spoilers up to this point, so it'd be a real shame if I ended up ruining it for myself after all this time, haha.

Yes and no it's a bit like the Zelda timeline where the games themselves have stand alone stories and events that you don't need to play the other games to understand but the is a connection that links all games together that makes you understands things in a much deeper sense. Instead of a timeline like in Zelda the is an overarching narrative that is playing out and gives a huge central back story as well as sets things up going forward and as you play more games in the series you grasp more and more of the narrative that the series' universe will be dictated by for example one character in one of the 3 Xenoblade game fits in with two others in a certain way in another (won't spoil it or how that's for you to figure out).

It actually is it's a co-owned IP by Nintendo in the same way Astral Chain is only reasone Xseed ppublished it in NA is because Nintendo had no plans to release it in the region so Xseed asked if they could the same way Gamestop published Xenoblade in NA themselves as a store exclusive. I much prefer PT to TLS tbh an ARPG that could key role in the library as it was like a 3D version of Castlevania with rpg elements and a unique premise and approach.

Then there's Bravely Default 2 which also got a demo. Unsurprisingly, the game sticks to what the IP is known for, so it sucks butt. Extremely stereotypical characters, boring writing, a fundamentally flawed battle system and heavy grinding. But we live in times where it's important to stay positive, so the good thing here is that it's a game nobody needs to bother with, so there's actually time to play worthwhile games instead of an overload of games.

Almost reported for bad opinion.

And yes, it was good direct.

It may seem extreme but I wonder and trying to be nonspoilery and vague here. If one big reason Xenoblade Remake is happening is to retcon one scene and model. Probably small adjustments in writing as well.

Spoiler!
Spoiler text. Original Xenoblade the Space Station is facing away from Earth and has a ring of light around the planet wherein XB2 the station is not just facing earth but jetting out of it with a mechanical ring around the planet.

Hmm, would you say the original Xenosaga games are still worth playing in this day and age? I mean, in a hypothetical scenario where free time is a non-issue.

They are connected but you would not know it until a specific moment and not talking about the optional DLC. Saying more than I should. X is unrelated to the rest of the games tho. So Xenoblade,Xenoblade 2 then Torna in that order.

Alright then, I'll heed your warning. I guess I'll play Octopath Traveller in the meantime...or Final Fantasy 7 Remake. There are just too many games to catch up on these days.

Don't deprive yourself of a great game because of a tiny connection that is insignificant and can be read up on in a couple of minutes if you play the games out of order. I've put hundreds of hours into both XC1 and XC2, and the order you play them in really doesn't matter unless you have a severe case of OCD.

But it's correct that the XC2 expansion should be played after XC2, because the expansion sheds more light on specific XC2 characters. But it's also logical to begin with to play an expansion after a main game.

I'm not gonna deprive myself. Just...postpone it for a bit. I would've started XC2 within the next couple of weeks, but with the remake coming out in May it's not that long a time to wait to experience them the "right" way.

Xenosaga are very different games to Xenoblade for one so the enjoyment of one may not transfer over to the other if time isn't an issue then it's worth looking into to see if you can get into the games before deciding to play them or not.

Spoiler!

The already is one small adjustment shown in the trailer.

Spoiler!

I would advice against it, Xenoblade games are pretty much the better days of Monolith.

Xenosaga is pretty bad and Xenogears, while some interesting ideas, is a drag to play.
