Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Resident Evil 3 Remake possibly coming to Switch?

Both REmake 2 and 3 as well as RE7 are not as demanding as people think the games have really good character models and animations but everything else is actually basic when you look at the textures and assets they're certainly not on par with some of the games already ported. Capcom's support has not been very good in general tbh.

No sorry, this is an outright lie. RE2 and RE3 are some of the best looking games that were released in this generation. Both character models and environment details are absolutely insane. This is not coming only from me, this is also coming from Digital Foundry. Porting them would butcher the experience, the same way it did with The Witcher 3 and Doom 2016. Let's face it, just because those games are "good enough" on the Switch they are nowhere near good when stacked up against other versions.

I much rather play old, full-blown, perfectly working ports on the go (like RE5 or Aline: Isolation), than something that amounts to a tech demo Look, if your only system to play those games is a Switch, I get it, it might be frustrating not getting those games, but hey it was a). the system you bought and b). you can always buy the PC version down the line for peanuts, once you upgrade your PC.

The game looks stunning but its also very linear & has limited scenery at any one time, which is why its targeting 1080/60fps on PS4 and why it does the rare job on PS4 pro of often hitting well above 1440p. The biggest asset are the character models & lighting, everything outside of that is not that ambitious. Not a critique of the team, they know exactly what is important for the experience and focus on it. But the raw figures point towards it being one of the easier AAA titles to port to switch.

Anything where the framerate can be cut in half and the resolution dropped to 720, whilst maintaining the core experience is a good contender.

Not an outright lie it's a fact go look closely at non character models and you'll see the textures aren't that great they're very basic REmake 2 and 3 use clever tricks to hide this such as the game such as filters, lighting and the fact that you hardly ever go up close to any asset that you're not meant to interact with all of this is also in smaller enclosed areas. REmake 2 and 3 are the definition of cleverly using what you've got to get a good result I've even got the game on a good PC and noticed this it's also why the game can run well on older PCs at decent level. Want an example of what I mean here is a PC screen I took:

Look at the textures on the Tiger here, Claire looks great being a priority model but the Tiger is adequate at best both model and texture wise that's how most assets in the game are, the use of good lighting and effects cover this up to give the game it's great look.

Your claim that TW3 and Doom experience were butchered is also pure nonsense.

I remember when Capcom gave you ungrateful Nintendo fans the exclusive Resident Evil 4? You didn't buy it. You didn't buy Viewtiful Joe. You didn't buy PN03. You didn't buy Killer 7.

Remember when they gave you ungrateful Nintendo fans your own version of Dead Rising? Pushed that poor weak Nintendo Wii to the limit. Who bought it? Not one single one of you!

Remember the 3DS? Remember when Capcom gave you guys the single best looking 3DS game on the console, Resident Evil Revelations? Gave you online co-op AND dual analog support? The only two people that bought it were me and Rol. That's it. I believe Vgchartz still has the official sales listed at 2. I haven't checked in a while.

So Capcom gave you their best. Their best wasn't good enough. Now you get leftover shit. And Monster Hunter.

Nope, Capcom made their worse decision by going with MH to PS4/PC/X1, that almost doomed the franchise.

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Who is Capcom?

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

Given thar RE2 Remake can run on potato PCs, and confined nature of REs, yeah, why not?

Resident Evil always does decent to good on Nintendo platforms. Porting this would be less of a risk than the The Witcher, Doom, Mortal Kombat and other ports.

Capcom is fickle though. Always has been. They make good games, but one generation they love everything Nintendo, the next they act like they don't exist.

What bums me out besides the prices of the old ports (and let’s not compare Wii U Nintendo ports to 6th-7th gen ports in terms of pricing), is that Capcom appears to have no intentions of developing new experiences on Switch outside of Mega Man 11. Or even experiences like Dragon Quest XI S, which I’m playing right now and is amazing on Switch! Why is Square Enix able to release DQ Builders 1 and 2, Octopath Traveler, Trials of Mana Remake, and DQXIS on Switch but Capcom can’t even get one 8th gen game on Switch outside of MH: Generations Ultimate, which was originally a 3DS game, and Mega Man 11?

If any of you can find a Capcom port that is like DQXIS in terms of being a recent game (not 7th gen or older) being ported to Switch with the same time and effort given, then please let me know.

I would like Street Fighter V Champion Edition on Switch, even if Sony is hogging the rights to it. Or an new Ace Attorney game.

Right now, sales show that the Switch is a console that developers should at least take seriously. This is not Wii where casual/waggle/shovel ware games affected the console’s reputation.

Like how Resident Evil 7 is on the Switch? lol
