Forums - Gaming Discussion - Butterfinger X Final Fantasy VII Remake is partnering up

"Butt your finger " ???

they need to change to Finger your Butt "

File size is as silly as an argument as I have seen yet. File size has nothing to do with quality. And CG cut scenes take up massive amounts of space. Episode 1, and yes the remake is multiple episodes, being large in size only indicates a bunch of CG watching versus in game playing.

Hmm that is highly ignorant to mention, considering the amount of info you already got on this game.

It is not a retail RPG in episodes but the first game out of a series of full games with an overarching story and not a step by step remake from the original, you already have been shown that information and you still choose to ignore it.

It's Episodes dude and please stop. Square is calling them episodes. Just about everywhere is calling them episodes. Because they are. It's a single game broken up in parts.  If this site had a block button you would be. So I won't acknowledge your posts anymore. Doubt you even played El Dorado Gate anyway. Hell bet you never heard of them.

Good, you keep making up nonexistent fantasies and add to it(even about my comments) with every post you dump on here to fuel your rant and want others to go along so this conversation does indeed go nowhere.

Well, there is a scene in Last Tango in Paris involving a butterfinger.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I'm only going to say this once, because it's always the same people making this claim.

Don't worry. This is not a 10hr tell tale game, this is not a ep-i-sode, this is more like Lord of the Rings. This is part one of the story, this is part one.. They're putting so much more into this game, and they haven't even shown us all the story elements they're adding, not even the leaks shown us everything. The remake is not 1:1 with the original in terms of scale, it's much bigger than that, so sit back and relax everybody, this is 100GB.

30GB is a game, that's a nextgen game, it's about a 20hr game, so don't worry we're all going to be okay on this. I understand some people are skeptical, and it's good to be skeptical, but to put this into perspective, Destiny 2 is 165GB with online multiplayer, rdr2 is at +100GB with online multiplayer, and FF7R clocks in at 100GB right out the box WITHOUT online multiplayer.

Now back to the Butterfingers craze.

That is not what people are saying.  People are concerned that Midgar being dragged out to 35 or 40 hours would leave much of the content as fluff.  A small portion of an estblished story, dragged out to justify a 60 dollar tag per part.  It is a very legitimate and realistic concern, especially when you look at how poorly FFXV was handled.

Now if the story is expanded upon and meaningful, that is fine.  This is what I am hoping for at least, but if that is the case retcons will be made to account for the changes.  It will be almost like an alternate reality telling similar events to the original FFVII.  I personally am ok with this, and is what I am hoping for.

In terms of criticism though, it is really a lose-lose for Square.  If they stay faithful to the source material, this will likely result in overpriced and padded episodes at 60 bucks a pop.  If the truly reimagine the game and expand on the premise, each part would be well worth the 60 bucks, but die hards will complain about the game not being faithful to the original source material.

At least with option two we get a good game, and I am looking forward to experiencing it from a new angle.  So for me, that would be a win regardless of ungrateful die hards.

If the Xenoblade remake was broken up in 3 parts charged $60 and had promotional MTX. People would be ripping it a new one.

What a shitty practice

Yep, hit the nail on the head.  FFVII has a huge amount of nostalgia and the game is getting a giant free pass from many because reasons.  Gameplay altering MTX is a shitty practice, plain and simple.

As the other episodes are released it will be curious to see what Square does.  Ruby and Emerald are very tough optional bosses, how many candy bars do I need to purchase to make it easier?  Time will tell.

Edit

I also enjoy a mod telling me to be respectful, but yet is telling myself (and many others) that our opinions/feelings/thoughts are wrong.  Great stuff.  I wonder why so many people don't post much anymore.

I mean first and foremost, I don't have to convince somebody to agree with me in order to validate my opinion.  Last I checked I am entitled to my opinion.  Secondly, can't change a person's mind when their mind is already 100% made up.
