Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4 Dreams Review Thread (88 Metacritic /90 Opencritic Average)

ANother goty contender . This year will be full of Goty

Another perfect score from Well Played:

Whats crazy to me is how well its doing on metacritic user scores.
Hardly anyone gave it a "0" (which usually happends, when a game scores a 10, theres users from other fanbases that review bomb it)

surprised it 'only' got 91 really, was expecting littlebigplanet scores. it's only slightly higher than Mario Maker 2, but seems light years ahead of that game from what ive seen

if those Horizon on PC rumours are true, i would be surprised if Dreams didn't go to PC in the near future. likely alongside a PS5 version

I see nothing to moderate on this. You didn't flame nor done any downgrade, you appreciate the effort and quality of the product and give a good reasoning for careful expectation on how much it can sell on a market that have Minecraft already dominating much of the mindshare.

You are by far the most reasonable person I’ve enjoyed discussing with on here, despite our differences.

It is also my please discussing with you. And most of our differences seems to be on how we would strategy the company we like instead of hate for one another or the companies.

Even though some say I'm unreasonable bashy against MS or supporting Sony I don't think so. Yes we are both biased to the companies we like (if we didn't like them, to be unbiased, them we wouldn't support them, but some deny their bias).

The reason I'm very vocal against what I don't like on MS or like on Sony is exactly because for my taste MS would have their strategy and games similar to Sony =p. But I perfectly understand that it is more healthy that both are as different as possible to attract different markets, expand the industry and also make more people happy.

If you decide to play Dreams I hope you enjoy it even if for 1h in a friend house just seeing what others made.

There aren't many categories Dreams can win, tbh.

But on the ones it can compete probably nothing comes close?

Probably because since Sony didn't do heavy marketing and the reveal was so many years ago haters weren't even aware the game released or even exist.

While both games are about creating, their goals are very different. Super Mario Maker 2 is just a 2D Mario level creator. And it excels at that. Dreams is a set of tools to create art. And it excels at that. Thus, they both get very similar scores.

Dreams looks like an excellent game creator but I can't decide if I want it or not. I'm not sure I want to create games, I'm probably too lazy for that. Usually the idea is I pay for a game that is done so I can play that game but making games myself, I don't know? On the other hand, making games could potentially be fun.

Ok that's it, I'm off to watch something on Netflix, at least over there I don't have to direct shows or movies, I can just watch them o_O

Always one shitty review just for clicks.

And everytime we point that you can expect someone to come and defend that low score and say it is reasonable and fair.

The fallout 4 dreams remake legit looks better than the vanilla version of the actual game. Media molucle should be creating engines and not games, they are obviously more skilled at it than anything else.

Considering this game’s critical/user reception, they are doing exactly what they should be. They could add engine creation to their workload, but no, they should not stop making games (especially of this unique flavor). There’s room for all of it in this business.

And without them we wouldn't have consumer level "engine" creation that is this powerful.
