We'll see. Unless you're living in China or visited the country a few days ago there's not much reason to worry right now.

Reading this thread made me want to play Plague Inc again

The virus was found to start at a market that sells live wild animals kept in cages for people to take home and kill then eat. Looked like bunch of weird animals like beavers etc.  They closed down the market now.

It might sound harsh but they get what they deserve. You aren't supposed to cage a bunch of wild animals together in small confined area. Hell I remember some couple getting the plague because they hunted and ate an uncooked rodent in I believe Mongolia. If you want to go out and hunt animals and properly cook them then so be it. But to cage a bunch of different exotic animals in a confined area. Do stupid things get stupid prizes.

Maybe we won't have to ever worry about China because they'll just take themselves out.  Their treatment of the environment and animals is long known to be detrimental.  The worse are the killings for aphrodisiacs.  Killing Rhinos for their horns to grind up and sniff or grizzly bear gallbladders.

So yeah no pity from me.

Whats even more amasing is that germans have strick rules about what is and isnt beer, so their not allowed to "cheat" by subtitueing things, or enhnace things via usage of chemmical means. Its just pure beer.

That's a common misconception. The Reinheitsgebot isn't a law. You can choose to stick to it, but you can also just ignore it without any consequences whatsoever. It's mostly a marketing gag.

I thought they wherent allowed to sell Beer in germany if they did that though?
Maybe theres some german firms that export some cheap or worse beers, made that way.... I dont know for sure.

I just know, that in denmark, while our own beers are popular (carlsberg, tuborg) they arnt worth a damn (imo).
Often times you get a much better tasteing beer, thats cheaper, when you buy the german brands.

Also when you look at the ingredients, its usually just 3 things (water, hops, and malt ).
I dont think its healthy how our society uses all these chemical substitutes for everything,
so when presented with a cheaper and better alternative... why not?

Hahahaha I hadnt even thought of that.

Tbh its not a rather good beer though, like 19 out of 20 random German beers, would probably beat it in taste & price.

Its like when you buy something and it tastes abit like Vanilla, and then you find out, its some exract from the glands near a beavers ass.
Euuuuewwwwwww.... I rather they use the "real" thing.

Unless it's Kölsch, the only piss that's legally allowed to call itself beer. Can't even get drunk on that stuff!

Also, German breweries do cheat. The Reinheitsgebot for instance says Gerste (barley), not Malz (malt). But using the raw fruit is disallowed in German breweries these days. Also, they add zinc, since the yeast needs it badly, but not by adding a zinc salt, like the rest of the world does. Instead, they add it to the water supply or as water softener. They add milk acid bacteria as acidifier, which is much worse than what the rest of world does by adding a bit of some weak acid like phosphoric acid.

Believe me, that Brauer in my username is not there by accident...

Hmmmm.... I didnt know that.

Still I think on avg the german beers are better quality than pretty much everything else.

Much better than american or french beers for sure. But I wouldn't count on it to beat Belgian Beers

With a country like China, you can't be too sure of the news that is put out. I am pretty certain the death toll is higher than they are reporting. They closed off cities ffs.

That's what I was thinking also, cause like they are legit building a new hospital just for that but the death toll was like 26 in a couple of days. For a population that big this is like as much as people dying from a cold.

It rose to 41 within just a day.

And yeah, if some virus that were such agressive would break out in the western world, there would be widespread quarantines, too, no matter if there had been many deaths or not. The thing is, doctors can see how dangerous a virus is during treatment and can sound the alarm before anybody is dead - but by that time the host has already infected more people, and those some more people, and so on...

In other words, the numbers may just as well be correct, as we don't have any real counter-indications yet. The only thing is that the number of confirmed infections is probably too low, as many hospitals might be diagnosing a severe pneumonia instead and people who may not be aware of the danger might stay at home, as the hospitals are getting cramped and the waiting lines longer and longer.

Hospitals in Wuhan are also reporting that they are running dangerously low on medical supplies, so this could get more dangerous very soon...

it weeds out the elderly and sick, from a economic standpoint its great for reducing healthcare costs on the longer term
