Boy I can't wait for Animal Crossing Switch, it's just such chill game you can sink so much time into.

I imagine it would sell 10 million at least, even more would be phenomenal. What I would also like to see is the series expanding into more fully fledged spin-offs and perhaps other forms of media like a TV show/anime post release.

New Leaf has hit 12+m and if Switch gets it's long rumored more portable version then I don't see why it can't at least match New Leaf's sales.  Sure home console sales of Animal Crossing have always been far less than handheld but once a Switch "Lite" is released then I would expect handheld sales.

K, still sticking with 11m

I've seen a lot of interest in Animal Crossing lately. If Animal Crossing Switch isn't a barebones experience it will definitely outsell New Leaf.

I voted 17m, but that's without knowing anything about the game because Nintendo has not released any concrete information. I expect it to become the bestselling game in the series nonetheless. It has been a long time since the last game, this one is on Switch. Given that Nintendo's overall business strategy has changed to put the reputation of their IPs above all else, they aren't going to make a half-baked sequel.

A half baked sequel like City Folk (I loved the game but it didn't really add much) would probably sell 12m+ on the Switch.  It would take something like an Amiibo Festival to warrant terrible sales.  They've had years to work on the next mainline AC so I am expecting at least a New Leaf effort where they actually mixed things up a bit (but still stayed true to originals) and added a decent amount of new things.

Bold prediction.  Like how you stick to your guns.  I'll just be the first to remind you when it passes 12m.  :)

Do you think Isabelle's inclusion in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate helped? It worked for Fire Emblem when Marth and Roy were in Melee.

I'm not sure about that. But anything Nintendo of America tweets about, there is a ton of Animal Crossing fans asking for news.

Are there crows in Animal Crossing?

Not sure, the couple times I've attempted to play, couldn't stomach more than 5 mins of it.

Then why are you in an Animal Crossing thread? =P

Open borders

20m+. Animal Crossing is a juggernaut now, people are starving for a new game, it's been six years since the last entry at this point. This is going to be a huge seller with never-ending legs for Switch, a system-seller the likes of Smash and Pokemon. Mark my words.
