So the PS4 is a lie?

Yeah for someone who is the tech guy at IGN he seems to know very little about Dev Kits. Especially as the start of his posts was that Sony were not showing them on kit but PC's. If the games are running on a dev kit, technically thats perfectly acceptable.
It's very common to show games off on dev kits even when a console has launched. Mainly because most of the time when showing off games they are dev/release versions and not the actual game master (i.e the games are still in development). You don't normally make a master copy until you are going to submit the game for approval/duplication.
As for the heat issues - that's pure speculation and pointless to bring up especially as its totally normal to have games that are in dev being shown on dev kits..., he kept bringing it up when talking to Cerny.

Yes normally games are running on dev kits.
Apparently, hes concern is that the dev kit is quite a bit bigger than the retail PS4 console, which implies their might be heating issues. Theres a lot of assumptions going on there.
Theres no way in hell Sony made a dev kit that doesnt actually replicate the PS4 system.
In fact i think the guys initial statement was just flat out untrue or he made a mistake...i think hes trying to correct it with hes more recent tweets.
I dont get why people dont just come out and say when they mess up or get it wrong.
sooo whose OP?

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.
Dev kits are fine. Isn't that the point of dev kits, to test to see if the game runs properly on the hardware

Yes totally.... forgetting of course a normal pc case is a lot larger than the ps4 case... no need to worry about over heating...
not that i agree with the op but come on man. if this is true the final design may need to be changed.. There is no harm in questioning things like this. Sony will still take your money
