I'm going by the fact that as soon as MS released their latest report about how many units they had sold their seemed to be quite a bit of backpedaling as to what the actual margins between the consoles were.

The 'backpedaling' was just after the nintendo report, as I understand it.

It was after Microsoft announced that they had sold 38 million units a couple of weeks ago.  Although backpedalling after a Nintendo report might indicate some pro-Nintendo bias.

Er try closer to 39 million ... and this conspiracy theory of yours is ridiculous. Microsoft can't lie to shareholders about it's sales. They have to tell the truth.

And yet if the opposite had happened you can bet txrattlesnake would be here saying he knew it instead of making baseless accusations.   With some people when the review scores and sales numbers are good there's lots of praise and those numbers can be trusted, when it's the opposite it's claims of bias and conspiracy theories and that the numbers are complete garbage.  Some people just can't seem to take the bad with the good.

You don't see me complaining about White Knight Chronicles getting a 6.0 in Game Pro.

Unless their shareholders approve of it.  Kind of like Bush and the price of gasoline.

Bull, you know nothing.

IT would need a consipracy of all microsoft employees, their accountants (somehwat independant) and their fully independant auditors.

Now everything not to sony fans liking on this site = Microsoft paid/bribed

First it was sony exclusives goin to 360.....

then it was multiplats timed exclusivity......

then DLC.....

the last coupole of days it has been review scores....

now its shipment numbers and independant tracking companies....

ALL of them money hatted and bribed by MS.

Please.

It wouldn't be the first instance of its type.  Epic telling Pachter that they wished they had made Gears multiplat, then having to retract their statements last week comes to mind.  Then all the exclusives MS have claimed to have that turn out to be anything but exclusive in the long run.

Most data from September through January indicates that the PS3 was soundly topping the 360 from the relaunch of the PS3 at $299 in September through the holiday season.

After looking bad in the holiday season with their sales being far below PS3 at Amazon, etc, MS needs good pr like an uptick in sales to look better.

The PS3 being ahead of 360 in Others, then suddenly being 300,000 behind is suspicious.

The data still has the PS3 soundly topping the 360 from the slim relaunch. The big difference comes from before that. And again, this isn't Microsoft saying this. It's Nintendo, basing their numbers off Gfk and Charttrack, or whatever those firms are called. VGChartz adjusted their numbers fully to the nintendo estimates first, and then thought that was a bit too much. So they adjusted the numbers back, to what they thought was more true to reality.

Still, 4 years of data was adjusted. Not just 3 months. At least get a full view of the picture before making your arguments.

lol why are you just clearly making up BS, Epic never said anything of the sort and you know it.

I'm surprised no bans have been handed out. This must be the best time of the day to let off some steam on here.

But if you want to adjust your numbers back due to the four years, then perhaps the 360's Christmas '08 sales in Others need to be adjusted again back too.  Especially if they were being based on how well the Wii was selling there at the time.  Seeing as how 360 couldn't gain a real advantage over the PS3 there most of the rest of time and how, if you look at it's numbers, Gears 2 coudn't have caused the sales of all those 360s in Others.  The 360 was being given numbers in Christmas '08 based on what one would think the PS3 would have been doing against the Wii if it was in a similar position; however, it doesn't share a similar dominance to the PS3 there based on other known data, so if they're going to dial it back based on the entire four years, one would think they need to take a further look at how the 360 was doing against PS3 in Others holiday '08.

This website does not "fudge numbers"

Hang on, stop dodging.  You werent talking about exclusives, you were talking about MS lying and conspiring on their shipped numbners in their financials and forcing tracking companies to follow the line.  Which is a criminal offense.

What you are syaing is that a company that makes many many billions in profits, is risking legal action and a repuatation meltdown to satisfy some internet fanboy war of console sales....

Do you know how silly and pathetic you sound?

It's a war they fuel with comments like those at E3 2008.  Also, N4G has reported on Microsoft employees coming to web forums to talk trash on behalf of MS.  If you look at the history of MS, you will see that they have appeared in court before regarding the legality of their business practices.
