Didn't Chrono Cross outdo Trigger? I'm suprised sincee the story, battle system and artistic deesign in Cross are FAR superior.

Oh, and not-related sequel? Did you even play Cross?

Anyway I voted for FF7, I liked the setting and atmosphere much much more.

Cross is not a sequel. It's a paralel dimension (so you can have some characters and references from Trigger appearing in Cross but not the same storyline and not a sequel). Cross is more like a spin-off/side story just like Radical Dreams.

Also, Cross bored the hell out of me (and I finished this game), so no, it doesn't have a better storyline, battle system and artistic design for me (purely a matter of opinion).

Cross isn't only in a paralel dimension, it is in the original dimension of trigger + a paralel dimension.

Not true:

"the developers of Chrono Cross suggested the game happened in a parallel dimension."

I know why you are saying that (probably because of the places, characters and similarities) but everything is happening in a parallel dimension, Cross and Trigger doesn't have the same world (even if it's similar).

"To resolve continuity issues and acknowledge Radical Dreamers, the developers of Chrono Cross suggested the game happened in a parallel dimension."

They said this on Radical Dreamers /=

Do  you know what Radical Dreams is?

Chrono Cross is a game based on Radical Dreams (characters, storyline etc).

So dam hard to choose, but FFVII it is.

Chrono trigger.. music, graphics and characters plus everything else about it,  really sweet and endearing. A timeless classic

I loved Final Fantasy VII a lot more than most "oldschool" Final Fantasy fans. I like to consider myself apart from that braindead dichotomy. I thought Cloud was one of the better heroes in the series, I actually liked Sephiroth, I thought the soundtrack was amazing the whole way through, and the only part of the whole story that I didn't really like was the final shot in the ending, though all this time later I'm much kinder toward it. Great gam. Great, great game.

But Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger.

They took Akira Toriyama's art and dynamism and got some of the most iconic character and enemy designs in the industry, the best soundtrack I've heard by Mitsuda, a light-hearted but poignant story about loss an how people deal with such a thing, an (at the time) innovative battle system which encouraged switching up your party members... and they actually did surprising things with the silent protagonist!

Chrono Trigger was a once-in-a-million kind of game that did things that games hadn't done before and haven't done since.

Frog's theme still makes my adrenaline rush every time I hear it.

Like I said: I liked FFVII a lot, but Chrono Trigger.... Chrono Trigger is too much.

Talk about tough choices :P!

I had to go FFVII, as it is my all-time favorite game... second is Dragon Quest IV... then Chrono Trigger in third (tied with Dragon Quest VI). Considering all of the mounds of games I have played, a pretty impressive feat.

Ironically, it is second only to my two favorite games from each of the series that bore Chrono Trigger. Hmm... I wonder why I never got around to playing Chrono Cross... Must be too busy loving Dragon Quest to death :D

My only question is:  how many people voted Chrono Trigger out of unfounded biases against FFVII, hmm :)?
