Final Fantasy VII 79 35.59%

Chrono Trigger was a revolutionary RPG while FFVII was merely a heavily advertised game. There really is no contest -- Chrono Trigger.

Didn't Chrono Cross outdo Trigger? I'm suprised sincee the story, battle system and artistic deesign in Cross are FAR superior.

Oh, and not-related sequel? Did you even play Cross?

Anyway I voted for FF7, I liked the setting and atmosphere much much more.

Cross is not a sequel. It's a paralel dimension (so you can have some characters and references from Trigger appearing in Cross but not the same storyline and not a sequel). Cross is more like a spin-off/side story just like Radical Dreams.

Also, Cross bored the hell out of me (and I finished this game), so no, it doesn't have a better storyline, battle system and artistic design for me (purely a matter of opinion).

Cross isn't only in a paralel dimension, it is in the original dimension of trigger + a paralel dimension.

Not true:

"the developers of Chrono Cross suggested the game happened in a parallel dimension."

I know why you are saying that (probably because of the places, characters and similarities) but everything is happening in a parallel dimension, Cross and Trigger doesn't have the same world (even if it's similar).

I need to play Chrono Trigger...I got it for the DS; looking forward to it.

I played and beat the game on an emulator. Was so good that I bought the DS version, and it is still sealed and probably always will be!

"To resolve continuity issues and acknowledge Radical Dreamers, the developers of Chrono Cross suggested the game happened in a parallel dimension."

They said this on Radical Dreamers /=

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

VII was one of those games (It's about 10% of games that I've played) that I've found I have no interest in. It just bored me really =/

Also, it's obviously a matter of opinion, I was criticizing the OP for stating that Cross was a disappointment like it is some sort of fact.

Sadly, a lot of people state that opinion like its a fact, kind of like a lot of people state that 'FF8 sucks compered to FF7' like its a fact.  Seemingly because they either hear it a lot or their friends agree with their opinion.  Either way, its true that its their opinion and not true across the board.  What IS true is that Chrono Cross was not a direct sequel to Chrono Trigger (although the later port of Chrono Trigger to DS tried to more directly tie the games together) and that even with the game being very much incomplete, it was still one of the best games on the PSX.

It seems most people are just turned off by the game because they were expecting it to be a direct sequel to Chron oTrigger and therefore, like Chrono Trigger.  Much like what happened to Final Fantasy 8 and a host of other games that followed (Metal Gear Solid 2, Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire, Devil May Cry 2, Smash Bros Brawl, etc).  Its called the 'sequel effect'.  A game is never going to be everything you hope it'll be, but if you give it a chance, you can allow it to be fun.

People who hate Final Fantasy VIII, hate it because it's gameplay was an acquired taste and the story sucked, not because it wasn't Final Fantasy VII-2. Also people who don't like Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire and DMC2 don't like them because they have infirior gameplay to their predecesors, which is a fact that can't be deneid if you have played Gold/Silver and DMC1. However people who don't like MGS2, usually don't like it for 2 reasons:

1) The story is weird and confusing (good argument)

2) I wanna play as Snake... why do i have to play as Raiden (stupid argument IMHO)

One, there's a multitude of reasons why people dislike all the games I mentioned above, not just the reasons you named.  And two, none of the reasons you gave are facts (see number one).
