Thoose 360 numbers seem very low. It's more than 200k less than Vgchartz.

well pachter doesn't include canada and such but yeah that's a big difference.

Note: Some games in my collection are no longer owned, but have owned.

My main questions would be if you're matching the time frame correctly, and whether your factoring in that VGChartz includes data for Canada ... Quite often NPD has odd week overlaps ( a Week in October may be reported in their September data) which could (easily) account for the loss of 100,000 units; and Canadians could account for 50,000 XBox 360 systems sold.

I am counting the following 4 weeks that NPD are covering for october, since I assume he is doing the same. Haven't taken Canada into account.

13/10 - 151k

20/10 - 138k

27/10 - 136k

03/11 - 138k

total -  563k

Assuming Canada is about 10% of that number then we have around 510k sales for USA, still 185k difference.

Pachter is a fool. Even an imbecill understands that the Halo 3 "spike" extends into october.

Hmm, I'm surprised he didn't give  a rough breakdown of what he thought the GH3 sales would be by platform.  On VGC it appears that the 360 is doing better than he has estimated, and I think that is probably due largely to the huge GH3 numbers.

Comparison's will be interesting on Thursday.  I'm glad the NPD is releasing numbers - it keeps things much more interesting :)
