It's confirmed. Gigantuar is a fucking cheap. It automatically targets your party leader, even if you have two SEN challenging him.

It's pretty pathetic that this fight boils down to only luck to get 5/5

is Gigantuar a mission fiend?

Yep, mission 54

How many Zinatra are they going to recycle as mission bosses? In fact that goes for all the recycled marks, there only about half the amount of missions if you remove the duplicates, maybe even less.

I loved Mark hunting in FFXII but in XIII its starting to just feel like a grind fighting the same thing again and again.

Well, outside some Elite marks on FFXII, there were tons of rehashes between them. You can make just so many different enemies, but I agree, this feels like it's the most recent FF with less enemy variety and more different skins.

Zirnatras are way over used for mission bosses, I've counted up to four in the 62 missions i've done so far.

I attempted the final boss. Got defeated by the first form once, won on a second try, lost to second form once, tried a second but had a feeling I wasn't getting anywhere so I quit.

Second form is invulnerable until you stagger him. Go for a Tri-Devastation paradigm, RAV/RAV/RAV to quickly fill up his chain link. Or if you have trouble with that, use Relentless Assault and Combat Clinic for healing. You're gonna need two or three staggers to kill him, depending on your stats.

Use lightining as your party leader, especially if you already have Army of One. When he's staggered, that move ups the Chain Link % by a few hundreds.

Just finished chapter 11.

Chapter 10 - 6.8/10
Chapter 11 - 9.1/10
The environments at chapter 11 and 12 are O_O.
