Ok I'm gonna. Ask I really nooby question now but can some confirm this about weapon stats:

STRENGTH ; physical damage?
MAGIC; magic damage? And does this mean abilities like blizzard and fire and cure?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm going to be using hope as a main magic dealer and that means the HAWKEYE will be the best weapon for him to upgrade, and also I'm going to be using lightning as a physical attacker so the GLADIUS will be best for her. That's why I'm asking about the weapon stats.

Yep, those are pretty much the overall aspect of the stats.

Just a suggestion though, which depends on what chapter are you. Lightning isn't the best character for Physical damage, since she doesn't have a high strength distribution, both on the Crystarium and on her weapons. She's best used as a Secondary RAV/MED character (her unique ability is actually based on the RAV branch), since she has the second highest natural Magic stat in the game, just a little above Vanille.

You'll be better served with Lightning if you focus on a more balanced approach, especially since she's proficient on the elemental strike skills on her RAV tree.

This is just my suggestion though, because I have Fang as my main damage dealer (2.1K strength), Vanille as my main magic user (1.8K magic) and Lightning is a balanced attacker (1.5K on both Strength and Magic)

No problem ;)

Since it seems that you're early in the game, you shouldn't yet worry about setting up roles for your characters (except maybe Hope and Vanille, because their roles are exclusively magic influenced).

When you get control of your entire party, plan accordingly to the strengths and weaknesses of all of them. For example, most people like to use Hope, because of his SYN skills, while I rather use Vanille due to her SAB skills, which coupled with Fang's SAB skills, can instantly debuff any enemy.

It all boils down to how you want to play the game later ;)

cactuar hunting is good fun xD as are chocobos and killing behemoths which im finding quite easy now but cant do mission 15, the one with the goblin chieftan and 6 goblins, should be able to though just keep dieing at stupid times

Use a Fortisol or try to get the Auto-Haste ability on all your party. Then keep them down by using Ruinga and Blitz with your Commander. That way, your two RAV can wail on them quite easily

just what you said plus a deceptisol and beat the behemoth king in 26 seconds xD

End of 2014 Hardware Predictions (03/03/14)

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

So many people keep asking about stopping to grind. Is this what the FF series has hammered into their brains. I've been treating it more like God of War where I just keep going to advance the story asap, upgrading my weapons with XP from enemies int he way as I do.

If I ever hit a wall (hard boss) I suppose I would go back and grind, but that is yet to happen and I'm on Chapter XIII. Aside from my weapons that are awaiting the catalysted to make them the final form my equipment is all pre-pulse except for 2 things also.

Did I mention chapter XIII is awful? So boring.

It all depends on the difficulty threshold that people are willing to risk.

Some people just falter when brought to a challenge, some prefer it that way. Outside Chapter 11, I never grinded and I got through the game quite easily. The CP given by enemies is more than sufficient. I prefered to fight the Missions on Chapter 11 instead of doing them after finishing the game, even though some were borderline impossible for my level, some will prefer to do them after the game.

I'm about to start chapter XIII tommorrow night, why is it that boring?
