So, what weapon should I be upgrading for, say, Lightning?

Is it the Gladius? Or is there a better one?

The Gladius is the best approach if you're going into a more offensive role with Lightning, but it has a too high EXP cost.

I levelled the BlazeFire Gun, which was simpler and faster to get to the required level (26) to get to Tier 2.

!?

26 levels! How many times can you level a single weapon? Is it 100?

All weapons can be upgraded into new weapons twice. You level them up and use a catalyst to get the second form or "tier". Then again to get the ultimate weapons.

I have Light's weapon ready for the final tier

but the accessory thingy I need costs like 2 Million Gil!!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

How the hell do I beat the ProudClad (awesome FF7 reference, Proudclod being the giant robot that shinra uses in Midgar towards the end of FF7), the second time? I mean everything was going fine, slow but fine, I staggered him with a combination of relentless assault and diversity, took off a bit over a million HP, used combat clinic to stay alive during retaliation, keep on goin, and then BAM he heals himself back to full health. I mean what the fuck? That's over a million HP he just healed! I mean what the hell!

Any tips?

I'm at Edenhall, probably getting there soon, so I can help you then. What are your stats?

At the moment I'm using Light/Fang/hope approximate stats are

Light HP 5000ish Att 1300 Mag 900

Fang HP 5000ish Att 1200 Mag 700(?)

Hope HP3500-4000ish  Att (dunno, who cares) Mag 1100

They are level 4 for all of their natural classes.

Tier 1 goes to 26

Tier 2 goes to 63

Tier 3 goes to 100, I believe

Is it the same for accessories?

So, for a perfect game, every single weapon would have to be 100% leveled and one type of each accessory leveled. Technically speaking.

That's fun.

Hummm, you're a bit underleveled in comparison to me

Fang - HP 6455, Strength 1830 Magic 982
Light - HP 6520, Strenght 1290 Magic 1230
Vanille - HP 6310, Magic 1518

I'll try to see if I can come up with a similar strategy for your stats. I had no trouble with ProudClod the first time, but this regen thingy on the second form looks like a b****

Accessories are different, I believe.

Take for example the Warrior's Armband. It goes to level 6, but it's evolution goes to level 11. I don't think accesories go to 100 though, most of them just require 1 level to go *

BlazeEdge is the most even weapon in the game, it's attack power is only 100 behind a fully upgraded Gladius... But it's magic is 400 greater than a fully upgraded Gladius.

I think i will upgrade that on my second playthrough actually.

lol, I think you're a bit overleveled compared to me. I didn't have any trouble with the first one either, and this one was going fine. It's just that regeneration crap.

Light's magic sucks anyway. It's sole purpose for me is building chains.

Hope, THAT'S where the money is.

I prefer offense for Light and Fang, their accessories boost their Str both by 107 total.
