You'd have to sell a lot of copies to make any appreciable money at $10-15.

Not as many as you'd think, especially in today's Digital Distribution.

I remember when Garry's Mod sold 35k in 8 days on Steam when it was 50% Off ($5). Now imagine how much Mass Effect sold at $5, from a 75% Off promotion, which happened several times on Steam and D2D.

Mass Effect probably already reached 500k on PC, and who knows how much it will still sell. It still has many years of sales ahead.

Even if it sold 5 million copies during that $5 sale, its probably less than $20M in the hand for EA. Which I must add is both an unrealistic figure and less than 1/4 of the revenue they will make at full price on the Xbox 360.

Despite the various sales, ME1 sold pretty crappy on Steam. At least, relatively to other PC/X360 titles.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

People who think the PC version will sell near or more than 360 are smoking crack, surely. This site has tons of examples that prove you wrong, like, say, the first ME, or games like MW2, GTA4, etc etc

2 million shipped translated into 2 million sales, I would estimate at 1.5m 360 and 0.5m PC.

Microsoft were talking specifically about Germany. Where the pc market is bigger then the console market. That same cannot be said about the rest of the world (bar a few select countries).

Considering the delay between the 360 and pc release of mass effect I very much doubt the sales would be very close.

few select countries? How about the entire Asia (except Japan), Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and Oceania. And let's not PC-centric nations like Portugal, France, Netherlands, etc...

I'm not saying that Mass Effect 1 PC sales would be close to the X360 version, but I'm damn sure that it's not as low as 300k.

That is crazy...b/c I reading something that said only 500 k this morning then later this afternoon 2 mil..

Fantastic sales for Mass Effect 2. The game thoroughly deserves those sales. 96 on metacritic.

Mass effect 2 in first sales week almost outsells the ltd sales of Mass Effect on XBox 360 over 2 and a half years.

2 million copies sold ratio would be around 75% 360 copies to 25% PC copies.

This site has no examples because it doesn't track PC sales.

Thought I saw that somewhere that ME1 on PC had nearly 400k sales compared to 1.6m on 360 (and no, it wasn't the previous post in this thread). Anyway, the MW2 figures are public, and it's easy to see in GfWL PC titles the disparity of sales just judging from the leaderboards. Not accurate, but a relevant gauge as well.

There's a reason developers and publishers have flocked to consoles - it's just much bigger sales than PC versions, that get pirated a lot. I'd be very, very surprised if an AAA game sells more on PC than console these days.

Btw daggy, I live in Portugal, and the fact we are a PC-centric market is news to me lol Nowadays, console gaming is huge here, i'd say it's bigger.

Dude get over it. Youve seen the proof. Gears Of War 1 was just as bad. That has sold over 6 million. 360 sales of the game are somewhere over 5 million. Because PC version came out when the 360 version was at 5 million it makes the PC version somewhere between 0-1 million. Remeber though the 360 version will still be on sale. I would put the PC version of Gears around 4-600,000. And 360 about 5.5 - 5.8 million. Again thats using this sites accurate figures. MAybe only Asia and Germany buy the PC versions and EVERYWHERE else buys the console versions?
