Im very hyped for Bioshock 2, but im to busy being hyped for WKC: IE first and foremost.

It seems when it left 360 exclusivity and came to PS3 ... people have become less vocal about it... just like lost planet 2...

Still it WILL be great if the first one is anything to go by, the creepyness alone is worth it!

Please don't compare BioShock 2 to that thing.

im just sayin'.

This is on my list of most awaited games for this first months, but as it has been said in this thread already, if it isn't exclusive, then people won't hype it.

Which is not all that bad, when a game starts becoming over-hyped, usually a group of vocal naysayers starts rising against the game and start doing trouble for the rest of the fans.

So i'm kinda glad this didn't happen with Bioshock 2 actually :)

A lot of people is hyped for Bioshock 2 but where's the hype you ask? Well they're probably too busy playing Mass Effect 2. Which doesn't mean no one will get it. I know i'm getting it 1st week.

Erm, your phrase only applies to 360/PC users. Bioshock 2 also comes out for the PS3. Let's not make this a 360 vs PS3 thread, we have enough of them already.

Also, hype means nothing sales wise.  If it did, the 360 Square Enix RPGs would have sold a million copies each.  Marketing is way more important than hype.  Also, Borderlands, probably the biggest new IP of 2009, had very little hype before it came out and look at how well that sold.

Completely agree with you. While I don't usually care for anything, sales wise, I got to agree that the effect of hype in it is very little. Ultimately, people will buy what they feel like to buy, and this is were marketing has the biggest role possible for any game to be succesful.

Bioshock 2 will be a very succesful game, especially that now it has MP, which is a major incentive for buying a game this generation.

Me, i'll play it SP, i'm not a very console MP oriented person.

I'm definitly getting the game on day 1 but I'm not really hyped for it because MaG and GOW 3 have taken all my hype. I havn't been itching for a game since RE5 but MaG has me waiting impatiently man. I had to turn off the PS3 today because I seen a few friends playing MaG and I just couldn't take it man. Fuckin shitty european friday release dates!

Because it's multiplatform. No one gets bragging rights for multiplatforms.

TBH I'm not overly excited myself. I recognise the tremendous quality of the original Biochok and the sequel will probably be just as good, but the linear gameplay puts me off.

Whoa... how was Bioshock Linear? if i remember correctly it was like oblivionish...
