Left 4 Dead 2 takes the crown IMO.

MW2 is an overrated, hacked laggy glitchy mess.

Killzone 2 was a good game, just not that good.

And I will throw in Borderlands as a nominee worth considering.  Yes, it is slower paces than normal FPS.  Also, it has a bucket of RPG on top.  But it worked real well, and has been considered best coop play by some for 2009.  If you want a loot run FPS along the lines of Diablo, this is it.

It's a draw for me.

Killzone 2 has a much better campaign. It's longer and has more depth.
MW2 has a better online and controls. The controls are so good that I mapped them almost identically in K2. I liked K2's online much more after I changed the controls to act like MW2's.

Don't understand peoples issues with the controls in KZ2. They were very easy to use. Not hard at all.

Killzone 2 no contest. Was vastly superior than its predecessor not just a rehash of the first one.

To be fair, Modern Warfare 2 is vastly superior to Call of Duty: Finest Hour, which was the Call of Duty that came out in November 2004 when Killzone came out also.

I was speaking in terms of Modern Warfare 2 being a rehash of Modern Warfare 1.

and yeah Killzone 1 had its issues, but I still enjoyed it, somewhat.

My point was that it's far easier to not look like a rehash when the sequel comes out 4 1/2 years later on far more powerful hardware. It's similar to how different Modern Warfare 2 looks than Call of Duty did that long ago also. Let's see how different Killzone 3 is from Killzone 2 before we start these types of comparisons, because they aren't fair in their current standing.

If were talking ALL fps games last year then year LFD2 wins hands down.

But out of those 2 games i would say they both were over hyped and pretty much sucked.

KillZone 2 i did not see the big deal with it. It was so linear it got boring.
The same could be said of MW2. I loved a few levels but most of them got boring fast.
Neither were a progression forward for the genre and in the deep sea of fps titles were nothing special in my opinion.
In fact since i completed them i didn't play them again.

Pfft neither of em

online???

For me its between Killzone 2 and Left4Dead 2, not Call of Duty, and I'd say Killzone edges out Left4Dead just a bit. I love L4D's coop, but have invested far more time into Killzone's versus multiplayer. It's so much fun.
