I thought that was kind of self-evident

I jsut thought, you know

My best gaming memories from about five or seven years ago involved LAN parties with the original Halo, which was well and truly a spectacle with a few friends and a space in which one could yell and scream and laugh without waking the neighbors

Or that there has yet to be lots of votes and those who have voted so far prefer those japanese games rather than the fps genre halo franchise.

I did that just a couple of weeks ago. Me and sixteen friends in a giant room, with four 32in tvs, sodas, and pizza. So much fun ^^

Damn never did it with 16 people, was always just 8 of us. But somehow we would always order to much pizza so if we had 16 then it would have worked out so much better .-.

But yesh Halo multiplayer ftw!

Also maybe most votes prefer the other games as they have had better experiences with them or prefer the rpg / adventure genre over that of the fps, thus while looking like the site leans on japanese gaming it infacts leans towards the rpg / action / adventure genre. Which just so happens to coincide with that of which has made the japanese gaming industry what it is.

Final Fantasy, terrible games lauded as some of the best ever.

#2 would be Halo. Not terrible games, but critically acclaimed games that are more average than anything means overrated.

It's not that Halo is a bad game, it is just there are so many people thinking it is more than it is. Like Goldeneye 007 (N64) before it, it took FPS gaming that existed on the PC and successfully brought the experience to consoles. It deserves praise for doing so, but not as much as many of the players gave it.

Now it seems MW2 has taken Halo's place where the twitchy, Ritalin popping, Caffeine addicted, FPS addicts go. It's helpful to be able to tell what kind of gamer a person is just by if he is playing MW2 all the time and nothing else.

Seriously though, 16 player Lan Halo 1 is the easily the most fun I've ever had with games in my life. I'm really jealous that you've done that recently -.-

I voted for FF, because while I do like some of them, most of them are just trashy, and yet when a new one comes out, people talk about it like it's going to be the best game of all time.
