ok so here what the people who give nagitive reviews for this game say:

1- game play is like mario 64 - well.. DUH OFCRS IT WOULD BE LIKE MARIO 64 ! IT IS MARIO AFTER ALL ! if its aint broke dont fix it ! look at what they did to the FF series they tried to changed the game play and now its all broken.

2-WII Graphics SUX!! arnt comparable with ps3/360 pew pew ! in ur face! - well the fact is ever herd that it all depends on the developers not console it self ? maybe the wii specification arnt the best but many games like galaxy graphics are far more enjoyable then the ps3/360 graphics, my point is if wii specification is worse then other consoles, and third parties developers develope crappy graphics it doesnt mean that the wii doesnt have the potential to make graphics more enjoyable then any other system. Example is RE4 and galaxy those two games IMO look better than any other game on ps3/360. galaxy is artistic, rachet and clank just looks pretty normal to me. That doesnt mean that galaxy has better graphics then rachet but they are more enjoyable.

3-ZOMG ! THE STORY SUX ! - Story sux ?? WTH MAN ITS MARIO ! u dont play mario games for the story ! its like saying "yaya super smash sux cuz it doesnt have a story" well.. halo3 has a story ? and it sells like crazy ! i hate halo i never liked it and i think FPS should have good stories which halo doesnt. This isnt halo comparision with galaxy but halo isnt about single player its about multiplayer (and overhyping) so u cant judge halo with its single player.

4-OMG U STILL PLAY THOSE KIDDISH GAMES ?! - OMG never herd of enjoying games even if they are ment to be for kids ? if u dont enjoy it doesnt mean its a bad game. if u hate a game dont make other people hate it, its always nice to share openions but saying things that arnt true about games or saying rubbish about a good game can always make a good game look bad. Example lair for the ps3 and its controles, i can never forget the review that game spot wrote about lair, and the part where they talk about controles lair is a pretty good game actually but with there review they sure made it look bad !

bottom line : for who ever wants to buy this game go for it reviews are important but they mean nothing compared with ur own unique personal taste. Sharing openions is always nice but argueing sux. Stop making this game look bad ! shame on u fanboys !

This doesn't deserve it's own thread, why didn't you post in the Official Reviews thread. Also, does SMG even have a "nagitive" review yet? That spelling mistake will bug me until I can no longer see it.

You know...we really have a couple good threads going on about Mario Galaxy and its reviews. Also, it really isn't worth a thread to point out the negativity of the reviews since there really hasn't been that much. If you want to post a thread about negative aspects of Mario Galaxy I might point you in this direction, though:

The lowest review so far was 90%, 14/15 reviews were 95% or higher, and the weighted average is 97.3%. What negative reviews are you talking about?

The game evidently isn't perfect, because no game is and because people's opinions vary. Mario Galaxy is the first game to have truly universal acclaim since OoT.

Oh, and good spelling, punctuation and grammar would really help with getting people to listen to your point.

 Again, how? This is the highest scoring game for about 10 years. In what way were the reviewers underappreciating it? Did you want across-the-board 100%s? 90% is an excellent score and that's an extremely low outlier in the case of SMG.

Yeah... Like that GameSpot dude who reviewed Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. He didn't get past the first planet (he didn't even talk about the ship's interaction in the game!!) and was using the Basic control settings.

That's very professional! Clearly tells me that they show what they want us to see...

Sorry but your comment about SMG and Resi 4 looking better than any 360 or PS3 game is way off. You said due to artistic direction. Um Bioshock wins hands down. Even Bungie didnt sacrifice their artistic direction for more realism thank god. So that's Halo 3 as well. However SMG is awesome.

I presume the one score of 90% that is mentioned is from GAMES tm magazine.
They do not give out fractions of a whole so it was either 9 or 10 from them for SMG.
I previously incorrectly stated the magazine gave HALO 3 10/10, when actually it was 9/10

This is what they say about the way they score reviews:

"Three of the numbers in a ten-point scale are of greater importance than the others: five, seven and of course ten. Some publications would fool you into believing that a 7/10 game is average, but that just not make sense to us.
