Forums - Sony Discussion - SONY: Motion Device will become PS3's "DE FACTO" Controller - YAY or nay?!

It's funny listening to them promoting something you know wouldn't have existed without Nintendo and the Wii.

It's even funnier when you realize, when Wii was first unveiled, they said motion controls were a fad that would soon pass, and people didn't want that kind of stuff. And now they're screaming the glory of motion controls off the rooftops. It's hilarious. XD

Not really, its funny to see you making jabs at PS3 & sony though.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Too many info was left out in the op, Sony said they will support both the dualshock and the arc as the de facto controllers for the ps3. Some of us will hate Sony for this but I think Sony could not care less about the haters, if arc is better for their bottom line then some of you haters are out of luck.

price, price, price, it's all about price and one decent software, PS3 sports, epic win.

A Wii Sports clone would be the worst thing they could do. They need to come up with original ideas. Not copying other people.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

they talking out of their ass.

most of their best devs don't care about waggle.

i think this thing is going to have a really hard time against natal. it feels like sony decided to pack it in because ms already said natal is packed in. we'll see i guess.

Too late for Sony to make it the de facto controller.

They will have to wait for PS4.

I don't actually see a Sony quote stating what's in the headline. I just see another article, which claims its so, again without a link to prove it.

I smell BS.

Sony looks to vigorously promote the Motion Controller as the de facto controller of the PS3 platform along with the Dualshock series controller and will deploy various measures to enhance the software title line-up for the Motion Controller.

There you go

Trying to prove Sony said something by posting yet *another* article where its the journalist, and not Sony, stating this?

Seriously guys, get real.  Sony didn't say any such thing.  They may have stated that they intend to put effort in to make it as supported as the regular controller, but they most certainly never stated that the new controller is going to just replace the old, like so many posters in this thread are assuming.

You can't honestly believe everything some journalist puts in a headline, especially if its a cut-n-paste from another journalist's article.

Part was left out, the dual shock isn't going anywhere

The wording on this is weird.  How do you call something THE de-facto controller, and then say... ALONG WITH the Dual Shock?  There is no THE de-facto when there is another option.

Wow, Nintendo has driven everyone nuts with what they have done.
