Dude, this is an awesome metaphore

I would explode with glee like an overfed hungry Luma if it is StarFox, Kirby of Fire Emblem Wii too.

I hope it's Starfox/F-Zero/Kirby/Pikmin 3, for Wii of course.

20th February? Damn it... too far for good games. I WANT GOOD NINTENDO GAMES NOW :*(

If Xenoblade is related to Xenogears/saga, I think that could possibly be the announcement.

It won't be anything major, they'd save something big for a big event like E3...

Implying Punch Out was nothing special

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Even with the news flurry today, I still think it'll be Kirby. It's really one of the few things that'd fit all the clues (release soon, big-ish franchise, nice surprise but nothing core gamers would get that excited about) and the GameFAQS 3/20 release date is just too weird a coincidence.

This is sort of how I see Nintendo's "big guns" JP Wii schedule going now...

Hoshi no Kirby (3/20)
XenoBlade (Golden Week)
Metroid: Other M (summer)
Super Mario Galaxy 2 (early fall)
The Last Story (late fall)
Zelda no Densetsu (December/holiday)

...with Wii Relax (or whatever it gets called) also squeezed in there somewhere.

I doubt it, Sinobi said specifically it's something the hardcore wouldn't care much about.  That tells me something with more wide appeal, like Mario Party or Kirby.

Plus, Nintendo wouldn't have announced it this week then.  They canceled the retailer meeting debut for Nintendo Dream, why would they let it out with their IR releases then?

Xenoblade for Golden Week? Nintendo would need a lot of faith in the game in order to do that.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Iwata spoke of the Vitality sensor being released in July, in that same interview that he declared 2010 Zelda Wii

But when does this thing come out, so we could confirm if it were Kirby or not? Now my hopes are up...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I think it's big enough.  Can't be worse than the "big" Wii game the last 3 years (Big Brain Academy, Link's Crossbow Training, Monster Hunter G).  It's not the Omegaton that Galaxy 2 would've been though...
