Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Would it be so bad it Nintendo just made software?

noooooooo, no just no

Perhaps by making just video game titles, the company could turn their attentions to catch audience. I mean, as Nintendo has their video games (DS and Wii), I think they spend time trying to get the best from their hardware, but not always counting the gamer factor, which sometimes may disband them. But, to be honest, I don't know, maybe because it's so strange to think about a world without Nintendo's consoles that we may never be able to imagine what could happen in this world... Creepy.

MY ZELDA COLLECTION

I think Nintendo has proven so far that they not only have something unique, original and with excellent quality to offer software-wise, but also hardware-wise.
Their innovation got to be standard on later console generations most of the time.
Therefore, I think we all loose if Nintendo stops offering consoles on future generations.

Nintendo hardware lasts forever, hell my NES still works, so from a quality design standpoint yes it is important for Nintendo to make hardware

you have to have a Nintendo console, because playing Mario on a Playstation system would be like having a Proctologist named Dr Hook, scary and painful.

Yes, because Nintendo is responsible for most gaming standards, controller-wise.

As long as I get my software, I guess I'd be happy but Nintendo tends to make hardware to support the kind of experience they want to offer (Mode 7 for the Nes, Analog for the N64, Wii-Remote for the Wii, etc). Would using somebody else design support their creativity?

playing mario & zelda on a sony or microsoft consoles ..... something I don't want to see at all.

Not to be rude, really not, but is this a joke thread?

I mean of course it would be bad. If Nintendo only made software, they would have to stick with the control schemes of rival consoles.

Nintendo designs hardware and software to work well together. They wouldn't be able to do that if they only designed the software, would they?
