Cute girls... visiting Angkor Wat is one of the things I want to do before dying.

It was truly amazing seriously.

We paid an on-duty police officer $12 to take us on a tour.  He really knew his stuff too.

Awesome. My girlfriend and I are doing the Vietnam/Cambodia/Laos/Thailand trip once we're done here in Korea.

How is Laos? I'm really pumped for it.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Laos was amazing mate.

Luang Prabang in the North is where we saw elephants.  Assuming you haven't spent real time with elephants elsewhere, you'll want to do this.  If you have the cash, spend a couple of nights with them.  It cost us $150 for a 3 day/2 night experience.  It was truly amazing and totally worth it.

Vang Vieng in central Laos was the best time I ever had.  If you like the idea of floating down a river, lined with bars, swings, slides and ziplines, and covered in Western tourists and fun locals, this is the place for you.  If you can, get there before the end of February, as I am told it dies down then (still meant to be amazing, but less tourists).

Vientienne I only spent a night in, I didn't hear great things about the capital, and there didn't really seem like much to do while I was there to be honest.

US Military? You wouldn't be popular in Laos.

But if you ever get a chance privately, visit the places, they're awesome.

Oh well, at least I can still take that Iraq & Afghanistan vacation I've always dreamed of, lol.

Cambodia and Laos? Cool choices.

Yeah.  Most people go for Singapore and Malaysia.  Some for Vietnam.

These two are a little poorer, and perhaps not quite the massive tourist destinations, but they have an enormous amount of relatively less known natural and man-made treasures.  Westerner's are slowly becoming more aware of them though.

There's nothing much to do in Singapore or Malaysia, particularly Malaysia. Singapore at least is extremely developed and pretty in an industrial sort of way.

Cambodia is beautiful, as is Thailand. Never been to Laos.
