The COMG! report shows pre-orders in thousands doesn't it? I don't know what points mean.

Aye 1 point = 1,000

Thanks!

I really hope Soul Sacrifice numbers increase. Meanwhile, do you know how accurate they are in their tracking? They seemed really off on MGR.

that's not true

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

30% of Layton's initial shipment. :(
Well that is day one anyway, so it's time to see how much it will do with the two remaining days(?).

Layton 90k first day. Yeah... COMG was right...

Since Ice silver is selling out, Vita is already confirm above 20K for next week! and obviously that's not the only system out there. Great news!

Senran kagura above 60K next week. Woot!

PSO2- does the bundle with the Vita counted?

Layton- Ouch! Level-5 overshipped again?

That Layton shipment does seem kinda odd. Unless they were planning on it being the only shipment for the next few months (or overestimated demand, I suppose that's better than under-shipping).

Glad to see fairly high for Senran Kagura, Phantasy Star & the silver Vita! Slightly saddened by only 50% for Shining Ark.

Yeah, sorry. Just checked the facts. COMP predicted 324k and it got 308k according to media create, accurate to a good degree.

COMG isn't a prediction, though.  And 1 point here doesn't automatically mean 1k preorders in the real world.

From what I've gathered about COMG, it's just a chain of stores somewhere in Japan who release their preorder data.  That's all.  So +1 on this chart means 1 preorder in a COMG store, that's all.

People extrapolate that to take guesses at real world sales.  Very roughly, 1 point here does make about 1k first-week sales for a game.  But oftentimes, this figure is less for Sony games (more like 600 first week sales per point) and more for Nintendo games (closer to 1000 first week sales per point).

But at end of the day it's all just guesswork.  It just gives us a brief idea of how well a game is doing.  Last week we had Magi for 3DS ending with about 86 pre-orders, but it opened with a 25k first week.  So it's not foolproof, just a fun thing to follow :P

Hope that makes sense.
