Would you buy a new Steel Battalion game (controller and all)?

Yes, on 360 9 28.13%

Yes, on PS3 7 21.88%

Yes, on Wii 1 3.13%

Yes, on any platform 6 18.75%

No, costs too much 5 15.63%

What's Steel Battalion 4 12.50%

Total:32

So with all this talk of mech games recently (Armored Core, MechWarrior, etc.) I'm curious. How many of you would buy a new Steel Battalion if it were released? I loved the game, personally. For those of you who don't know, Steel Battalion was an Xbox game made by Capcom that cost $200 and released with a gigantic full mech control pad and foot-pedals. The idea was to provide the most "realistic" mech experience possible in the living room, and in my opinion it was incredibly successful at this.

Shameless bump.

The graphics are still to this day kind of impressive. Xbox was a beast.

A simple no would be a good option.

Cause I dont care howmuch it costs...I just didn't like it.

Takes up too much space, takes agest to set up, gets repetitive in 30 mins. Natal could be a good choice for the controller tho.

Left foot forward - go
Right foot left - turn left
Yell "Fire!" - fire...etc

YES

YES DAMMIT ALL YES

This was easily the best game on the original Xbox for me, a game unlike any other I've ever played. I've been looking for an equal mech sim ever since.

Wow, I didn't even know this existed. Great concept, though from watching that first mission, I really hope the missions get more interesting.

Still, I'd love to see a new Steel Battalion on the HD consoles, though $200 is pretty steep. I don't know if I'd ever pay that for a game. It would have to be better than what that one video showed at least.

I don't know if this could be what Capcom are teasing us about with regards to Natal. It could be pretty cool if they made it work, but I really liked the technical stuff, like how he changed gear for example, so I don't know if it would actually work. I suppose using Natal/PS Eye for stuff like camera control with turning your head a bit could work though.

I would never buy that game. Steel Battalion was awesome cause it was visceral. You had the controls, you pressed the buttons, flipped the swithces. Natal version would suck even more than with a plain controller.

no, I wouldn't want to spend $200 for a single game.

However, I would love a tank game that used the Wii controls. Hold both controllers vertically and use them as joysticks, 1 for each tread on a tank. They did this kind of control in a Monkey Ball minigame and it worked well enough for a mini game. So, you'd have complete control over movement, joystick for looking around, C,Z,A,B, and d-pad for weapons and actions.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

That was my guess. I'd love to give it a try, but $200 is really, really steep!

I wish that rumour about a Wii port using the balance board wasn't just a cruel joke.

I would love to buy this game, might even be willing to pay $200 for it, but I couldn't justify the space of all that specialized plastic.
