Forums - Sales Discussion - GT5 : The (hidden) Sony weapon for end 2010 ?

Sony will be in trouble if they only have GT5 for Fall2010. I'm expecting them to announce major games at GDC.

Dude what are you talking about, Sony has the wand or gem, GOW3, MAG, Heavy rain, GT5 There is a bunch more I just can't remember right now, 360 has Natal, Halo Reach , Mass Effect 2, Which may come to PS3 later, alan wake, that is really it, splintercell has now been post poned till late 2010 to mid 2011. They both will perform well, I think Sony has the edge, but it really does not matter to me because I own both.

Splinter Cell: Conviction has been postponed until late 2010-mid 2011? Isn't it only delayed until April this year?

it's hard to tell if the delay has to do with the game not being ready or a marketing strategy, it's not like we having seen games delayed as a marketing strategy before (SSBB and just about every game that was suppose to come out the last holiday but then was delayed due to MW).

personally, placing GT up against halo reach in the holiday period sounds like a good idea to me but it's not like any of us actually know what else sony has up their sleeve for this year, we'll have to wait for E3 first.

why would the biggest game left for sony this gen need a "strategy" ?

There is no master plan or startegy.... its just delayed.

huh, outside the fact that no release date has been announced for PAL/NA and even if I completely agree that we are waiting the GT5 release since YEARSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

so at the end, to your question : "why would the biggest game left for sony this gen need a "strategy" ?"

answer : BECAUSE it is the biggest game left for Sony this gen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@libellule Your kidding right? What happened to GOD OF WAR. I've been waiting for that game since the purchase of my PS3. And GT5 seriously cannot be sony's biggest game....it can be a good contender, but I highly doubt that it will be crowned "the best".

I agree with GreyianStorm. There are a shitload of awesome games coming out to the PS3 this year like MAG, GOD3, GT5, etc. Other than Halo Reach and maybe Natal, I don't see Xbox's lineup as being better than the PS3's lineup this year.

It means they are shifting the game to the 2010 fiscal year. In other words, the have hit their targets for 2009 and are looking for a good boost in the new year.

I think GT5 will be Q2 in Japan and Q3 in the west. 2010 that is.

GEM + GT5

launch of 3D gaming with GT5, huge marketing

= biggest launch for a PS GAME ever.

hehe, your kidding right ?

GT vs GoW :

GT sales >> GoW
GT mainstream impact >> GoW
GT review = GoW

In clear, focuing on point 1 and 2, it is OBVIOUS that GT will have an higher impact than GoW3.

I hope, and it seems looking at preorder, that GoW3 will be big

but, GT, is largely more powerfull than ANY PS3 exclusive left in term of WW (particularly Europe) selling power
