Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony: 3D gaming lineup announced "soon"

nvidia has this already for PC's. It is quite popular and works really well. For nvidia all you need is a 120hz TV, and yes you have to wear the glasses. Lots of games have patches to make them 3d, and the for the ones that don't the grahics driver reads the rendering and auto creates 3d effects.

Trying to convince me the Wii is a real adult game machine 'if you play it right' is like trying to convince me Tofu tastes great 'if you just cook it right'

I never saw 3d gaming before I am curios to see it. I bought already Tvs but I am lucky my Sister needs a bigger Tv so I give her one for Birthday and buy a 3D TV later this year.

With 3D, people will really feel the difference between CRT and HDTVs. It is simple as that.

Here we go again. Screw you Sony, what will i will be doing with my 2 40+ Full HD TV's. I am not gona invest more money to buy a new 3D TV. History repeats itself as with the 600$ + PS3.

Sony doesnt get it, they are ahead of time like they were with the PS3. We are in recession and not many are going to upgrade to new expesnive 3D TV's. I wish Sony could have done it without having us to replace TV's.

Failure is written all over it.

Don't know what recession it is when Avatar has just earned more than 1 billion so far (now is the second place of all time) . Can you live without watching Avatar on 3D at your home? 3D will just push HD TVs sales. I think Sony is doing the right thing, thanks to James Cameron.

You got that wrong. I can see many being able to pay 10$ to go watch a 3D movie once a week. But not many can pay 2,000$ to buy 3D TV.

Fantastic. Many games would be awesome in 3D, but I'm guessing it will only be the highest of the high budget games, and a few PSN titles, which take advantage of this. I'm going to say GoWIII won't, not at launch, but hopefully TLG will. Heavy Rain will probably get a patch, too.

So how do I know whether my TV is 3D-compatible?

I can't see this whole 3-D thing succeed if you also need to buy a 3-D TV for experiencing it.

Only because you have already aquired a HDTV. But , and who did not? They will feel more attracted. 3DTV will be popular, and you will buy a 3DTV in the end. :)
