Dammit now I have to sell my brand new PS3 cause Sony is so dOOmed that they won't be able to support it any more. >_<

Sony wil be just fine, don't worry, no one knows whether 3D-TV will take off and who will win the consumers hearts (and money)

I know I was just kidding . Even if the PS3 was to drop dead tomorrow there are still many games I've yet to play and I'd be happy for a while .

Edited for grammer.

yeah not to mention broke from all these quality titles coming out real soon, my purse is complaining already lol

I am getting WKC, Heavy Rain, and GOW III if I can (WKC already on preorder lol)

it's the future of handheld

Google Tridef 2d to 3d video converter.

you can do this already. Just not on the fly...

Neat idea for Toshiba, as long as it works good. This should convert Wii/PS3/Xbox360 games to 3D on the fly as well.

But i said this before...sony are far from 3D leaders at the moment. they are not "doomed" as they are making important 3D steps but shouldn't be hyped as the flagship carriers of 3D.

What you said is sorta irrelevant, considering Sony is 'seen' as the force behind 3D. Doesn't matter if it's not, people and journalists see Sony as front runners in the 3D tech. However, I think although Sony have quite a bit yet to go, they will be leaders and will reap the benefits because they are the only company in the world covering all areas of 3D.

I don't really believe 3D will take off, it's one thing to go watch in a nice movie theater the last technically impressive blockbuster (like Avatar), it's another thing entirely to expect people to drop thousands of euros upgrading their stuff and constantly have to wear those glasses, which are really tiring on the eyes. I'm a huge tech nut, a hardcore gamer, and even i'm not willing to do it, nevermind joe average.

It's cool that Sony / Toshiba / etc are pursuing this type of stuff, but i doubt it'll be successful.

I'm laid off so I need to think about essentials first, but I might have a job lined up soon. Last game I got was Resistance 2 Collector's Edition with the figurine and everything for $40 with a gift card for Best Buy. It was a steal since the regular copy was still $60 there.

FootballFan - "GT has never been bigger than Halo. Now do a comparison between the two attach ratios and watch GT get stomped by Halo. Reach will sell 5 million more than GT5. Quote me on it."

Hey lady: I want 3 dimensions, not 3 definitions.

Anyway, how will the TV determine depth? By focus?

That makes no sense. Just because someone does everything, doesn't mean they do everything well. GM makes more types of cars than BMW...yet I'd say GMs best efforts are far from BMW's best efforts.

Here is what I dislike about Sony's 3d strategy...Their secrecry!

They have been touting 3D for over a year now and we still don't know much about it. Don't get me wrong, maybe Sony has something on the backburner which will blow us all away...

Yet I have to give props to someone like Toshiba here who come out of left field and say "instant 2d to 3d video conversion with our Cell TV. BAM!" Clear and in plain English.

I don't know how this will work but most 3D software on the PC has options you can adjust, such as depth +, depth -, focus, auto focus...etc...

Here is an example - http://www.tridef.com/ignition/control.html

I assume this TV will have similar options.

Makes a lot of sense actually, since Sony do TV's, projectors, gaming, movies, blu-ray, music and the rest, they will have a lot more to exploit and could therefore make more out of 3D than others. Also since they do everything related, they will be at least seen as the leaders.

Have you not been listening? Sony has the same type technology comming. Also Ps3 is the only console to support real 3D, Sony is not doomed again, Do some Research.

you know i've been trying to ignore this for quite some time now, but that ends here... my god sony... for a near 1-grand PS3, then lair, then PSPGo which is near the price of a PS3-Slime? now this!? ... *sigh* whats the point of this TV now?
