Which game will sell the most games: Halo:Reach or Gran Turismo 5 or FFXIII

Halo: Reach 68 39.77%

Gran turismo 5 94 54.97%

Final Fantasy XIII 9 5.26%

Total:171

Halo Reach > GT5 > FF13

But I believe Halo and GT5 will both sell less than the previous 'real' games in the series'.

It's pretty darn obvious that Halo: Reach will sell the most with GT5 being second and FFXIII FAR away in third place. GT PSP was rubbish however I doubt that game has damaged the GT brand too much however from what we know GT5 is an absolute beast of a game. Purty game, 900 cars, weather and night racing, blah blah blah along with it being from an already big franchise ensures it will be the best selling PS3 title released on the console.

The amount of cross promotion which PD will be able to do with GT5 is amazing though, they hold so many of the licenses besides that of F1. Nascar, WRC, Super GT, IRC and hopefully a decent online will ensure this game has very good legs. Gran Turismo on the box sure won't hurt it either. :P

What was so bad about GT PSP. It lacked a campaign, but the gameplay itself is great fun, and the replays are amazing to watch. It is the best that you could expect from GT on a handheld console. In terms of sales, it is close to 1m, and should keep on selling for a while {of course, we also have no idea how much it has sold on PSN}

Halo is already a dying franchise, with Halo ODST selling only 4 million vs more than 10 million for Halo 3, which is a huge fall (-60% sales).

Even if Halo Reach manages to sell 6 or 7 million, it will be no match to GT5, which could sell well over 10 million lifetime.

Not even close. GT5 easily.

Have you ever played GT: PSP? I asume not, since you wouldn't let that crap out of your hole. That game is the best sim racer on any handheld and the closest you'll ever get with today's hardware specs. The only thing missing is a "story" mode, which can honestly kiss my ass, I don't need rpg elements and whatnot to race hundreds of cars on beautiful courses with great driving mechanics.

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Halo:Reach.

All signs point to GT5 continuing the reduction of sales that started with GT4.

Why?

First - Increased competition. GT used to be the only game in town for truly realistic looking cars. Now nearly every racer looks photo realistic and since Forza 1 the GT series has had a superior alternative for the racing sim. Will GT5 surpass Forza 3? Maybe. To an extent that the more casual race fans choose to purchase a PS3 just to play it, doubtful.

Second - PS3 just doesnt demand the marketshare that the PS2 had and the fanatical GT fan already purchase a PS3 for GT5:Prologue.

Third - The PS2 was still waiting its first AAA blockbuster release when GT3 hit the ground. That is far from the case with the PS3 and GT5.

Gt5p sold 3 times more than any other prologue in GT history, there's 4M users that WILL buy gt5 once it comes out.

i can't see the signs of a reduction of sales...GT4 sold less than GT3 because it was the 2nd game in the console and still sold 10M

when GT3 came out there was less than 25M PS2 sold to customers, still it managed to be the best selling title in GT history.

with all the wait surrounding GT5 i don't expect anything less than a 1.5M+ opening week and 9M+ lifetime

i say GT5>Halo>FFXIII just because halo:reach is not halo 4 and it's the 3rd installment in the console, this game WILL not be a console seller and will not surpass the Halo 3 sales.

I'm Back! - Proud owner of the best doomed handheld of all time!

This post is LOL worthy.

That's like basing GT5 sales of GTP.

I think that from a bussiness standpoint, Halo already sold more than GT.

In the same time period, Halo is going to sell 24-28 million units (Halo 3, halo Wars, ODST and Reach) and GT "only" 15-17 millions (Prologue + GT PSP + GT5) - IMHO. Maybe this difference is going to be even wider because ODST is still selling like hot-cakes, and at a bigger price than Prologue.

That and the fact that you don't sell GT Toys, GT Books, GT movie contracts, other genre GTs (like GT Wars), GT everything as Halo does, show me that talking about bussiness only , Halo strategy is much, much, much more profitable than Gt's and that sony should rethink their stratrategy for their biggest franchise.

But, all in all, for fans, both games will be amazing.
I don't like both of them as games (prefer (or should I say miss) arcade racers - like rumble racing on the ps2 - good times! :) - and can't stand FPSs on consoles) but I look foward to see both of them sell well!

Btw, this is my first post here (Hi, guys!), but I've been lurking around for a while to see how things works here! Apologies for my english and I look foward to have you as friends!!

Well... not quite, ODST was a full priced successor to 3, even if it lacked a multiplayer mode other than firefight. Prologue (I assume you are talking about that not GT PSP {as that is on another console entirely}) was a half priced teaser

It was an abortion, one of epic proportions. A bits n' pieces game put together to push another abomination also known at the PSP Go, no career mode or online and an absolutely retarded game mechanic where you could only choose a few car companies each day. I have no idea at all how many copies the game has sold however I would be willing to bet that it's no where near 0.97M. It did not even do 20k first NPD and has not been on the Chart Track or Media Create since it's second week. That said from the day it was announced I knew it was not going to sell well, have a look at the hate the game has on GTPlanet with 99% thinking it was the reason GT5 was not released in 2009.

In terms of strength though Halo and GT are not in the mega bracket anymore. As you said GTA, COD and the Nintendo games are much bigger so just fighting over some e-winky growth me thinks, each game will sell enough for more so meh. NSMB Wii will sell more than each of them just this year let alone the millions it sold last year so meh eh meh eh meh, fighting over crumbs here.

I will be so so bitter though if GT5 does not do at least 7 million lifetime. -__-

@Seece : I didn't know ODST was running on "Portable Xbox 360".

Halo franchise on Xbox 360 is halo franchise on Xbox 360... Last installment (ODST) sold a lot less than Halo 3 : 4,36 million vs more than 10 million. Hence my comment.

GT PSP doesn't run on PS3, so I'm not even sure what is your point.

Edit : oh ok, talking about Prologue. Historically, prologue always sold less than the full GT games, and still those prologue sales were impressive.
