Any word if we can play the games I buy offline?

I was able to confirm you could.  It doesn't update the leaderboard though if you do that.

half of them don't work for some reason. The games they have is a good start, but they just need to offer more. It reminds me of the arcades from my childhood. I like the fact that you could make your own arcade rooms. They just need to fix the server issues, but they will eventually.

I played for a bit last night, and ended up buying a few intellivision games I used to play a ton as a child. Astrosmash, and Mountain Madness Skiing.

Lol, that looks an awful lot like home...

If you want to do a high point challenge contest at Astrosmash, feel free to add me to your friend list.

It appears to be about the opposite of Home:

In Game Room, you don't apparently invite friends over, and the place is busy with your friend list's avatars wandering about, along with mascots.  There is also no lines to play games.  It is meant to play retro arcade games, rather than be a place to socialize.  Also, the game rewards you for doing things, as opposed to Home, which is mostly a place to hangout.   One in Game Room can jump in any time and do things, and don't need anyone around.

Game Room seems more like a challenger for the virtual console on the Wii.  I would say it feels more fun of a way.

They do need to fix the server issues with Game Room though.

if this free or do you have to pay for it?

The Game Room application is free.  You also get to play each game once for no charge, to take it out for a test drive.  Outside of that, it works very much like the way the Wii Virtual Console works, except the games are cheaper.

the game selection at the moment sucks. i also thought you'd be able to move around. hopefully, we'll get some games with nes visuals in the near future.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

i read the list of games available, and i found a full list of SUCK. I don't find game room appealing one bit.
