Forums - Sony Discussion - just beat GOD OF WAR, from the gow collection.

So far, GoWII is even better IMO. The controls and combat feel more refined. The in game cutscenes are much better and there seems to be nothing like those freakin' hades pillars.

the direction GOW2 went is hands down a master piece in its own way.
Hopefully GOW3 will live up to its name

starting gow 2 right now.

Even for a PS2 Game it still Plays So good and looks so good , i was surprised :P

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

I'd just finished GoWII today from the GoW collection. I'd nearly forgotten just how much fun I had with those games.

I'm with the majority here; I thought the second one was better.

i can't believe people would complain about the hades pillars. i thought that part of the game was fun. (took me just 10-15 minutes though, so it might depend on skill. *wink*)

as for the desert part, that's one of the worst parts of the game because the desert was too big and there was no way to find those freaking sirens other than luck. unless they have a pattern?

i thought that the original god of war was a great game with a bunch of odd design choices that make it frustrating.

1.) hades pillars - the stupidest, dumbest, craziest game mechanic ever conceived by mankind. no fun can be achieved from climbing them, and they're far too unforgiving, which results in you spending an hour on something that isn't fun at all.

2.) too few boss fights - after you've killed your hundredth minotaur, it ain't fun anymore.

3.) desert of lost souls - finding 3 banshees in this huge area, all of them having a random path, will take forever. stupidity reigned in this part of the game. god of war is about searching?

god of war 2, however, is an absolute masterpiece. good thing that idiot jaffe was replaced.

Ugh, yeah, go bash for Jaffe for the few "odd design choices" in an otherwise "great" game, but don't give the man his due credit for the rest of that "great" game that he CREATED. That was his baby through and through. Hmmmm, maybe the idiot isn't Jaffe at all but someone in this thread.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

really? i found the desert to be very easy. Just follow the walls of the desert unttil u hear the music. find them and Then kill them

maybe its just me and my passion of hating desert themed levels. lol. but it wasn't as bad as i made it out to be. i still think the hades pillars level is better than the desert one...

I like the First one a little better, but both are amazing games, yes a 10/10. I also played it on the God of War colloection, I also have them both for the PS2, My son can play them. I can not wait for God of War 3, it will be amazing, I'm thinking even better then Uncharted 2 which would be unreal. March here I come .
