Forums - Microsoft Discussion - what was microsoft thinking?

when i was younger i owned a ps1 and a ps2, then i got a 360 and ps3. but theres one thing i could never understand.

on the ps1,ps2 and ps3 the back buttons are labeled as R1, R2, L1,L2 (makes sense right? right 1, right 2, left 1, left 2 ) ok so then i look at my 360 controller RB, RT, LB, LT... now this is where i get confused, because i dont use it enuf, i always think that

RB = right bottom
RT = right top
LB = left bottom
LT = left top

but then after i hit the wrong button i go " o yea its not bottom and top its, bumber/button and trigger!

iunno i find that kinda funny cause its such an obvious annoyance you'd think they would realize this when naming them. :P

Lol I never even thought of top and bottom. First time I actually hear this.

Truth does not fear investigation

^I concur. Always made since to me that t=trigger and b=bumper.

I actually prefer the 360's Trigger and Button setup. They feel very different and easy to tell from one another.

Give it some time.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Same here I always saw it as right button, right trigger and the like.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

ROFL i have the same problem... someone yells PUSH RT!!! in COD and I throw a granade and die

RB=Right button- Because it is a button
RT= Right trigger- Because it is a trigger

Well officially they're called triggers and bumpers. That's perfectly logical to me.

To be fair I've seen a lot of people get confused with the R1, R2, L1, and L2 as well.

Ultimately, this is a fail thread.

nah u guys rent getting it. just look at ur controler. the T is under the B. i picture TOP AND BOTTOM.

i no the actual set up, just find it funny cause ill always be like "o crap,,, i threw a gernade instead of picking up the sawd off shot gun"

You'll get used to it.
