Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I am amazed how much the Wii gets ignored in the console wars.

Maybe it is that first place seems out of the question, but whenever I see the console wars come up, the Wii gets discounted by comments such as:

* The Wii is for small children and old men.

* The Wii is a gimmick.

* Only casual people care about it.

* Only fat people are buying the Wii to get into shape.

* Sales numbers not equal quality.

* The Wii's sales will be tailing off real soon as people get tired of it. [Edit: This is one i missed earlier]

I am left shaking my head at these comments.  I ran into them recently when discussing the PS3 vs 360 with someone, and bringing up how the Wii is leading in sales.  Anyhow, apparently the battle for second is what seems to matter the most in the console wars.

lol welcome to the games industry, my friend! x]

it's really funny because i think i play my wii more than my ps3 and pc combined. xP

The Wiis games just aren't as good as those other consoles exclusives. They sold like 20M copies for no good reason, ignore that!

Tease.

It gets ignored cause it won, there is not really a contest. Its nothing new.

Edit: It's kind of like getting the weather channel in hell.  "....and today's forcast....FIERY HOT!!!"

CURRENTLY PLAYING:  Warframe, Witcher 2

It's because very, very few talented development teams are working on the Wii compared to the PS3 and the 360. Most third parties have their best teams working on the PS3 or 360 (see: EA, Ubisoft, Capcom, etc).

Currently playing: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, NBA2k11, Metal Gear Solid, Picross 3d

The Wii is getting Monster Hunter Tri, though! :D

Does MH3, ports of great last-gen games, a lot of Resident Evil, and Zack & Wiki match up well against Dead Rising, Lost Planet, DMC4, RE5, SFIV, and Dark Void? :p

It's just like the shebang about the reviewers giving wii games bad scores.
For a lot of the people who've been gaming the past 10 years or so, the games just don't seem to be on par.

Sure the games are still good, but if you want the opinions of people who are starting on the wii and don't have the last 10-15 years of gaming to corrupt their bias, you're going to have to wait until someone cares enough to publish them.

I've said it before, it's a paradox. The casuals aren't interested in writing video game reviews. (I mean this in every good way possible, it's not a dig, just being clear) That's the problem.

I think I enjoyed Zach and Wiki more than all the non Wii games mentioned together.

It's okay, they're just jealous of the Wii's domination.
