Well, that doesn't mean they won't publish any of them, right?

That's a good point actually, the only Mature title developed by Sega recently is Yazuka, well and Golden Axe wich is terrible and we should not speak about it.

Golden Axe... D:

Speaking of Yakuza... I want a western release.

3 is here in March if it makes you fear better.

OT: Can someone name me the the numorous major selling on rails shooters/guided fps experience from last gen? Once we get that list we can finally say how big of  a flop DSE was and not what a success some of the Wii rail shooters were.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

3D dot game heroes isn't released in the US unless there is a time machine you wanna lend me. Folklore was meh (repetitive as far as playing both characters goes)

I have so little faith in 3D dot heroes, it's nice to see somebody thinking is going to have good sales here. Folklore was good in my opinion, the camera is horrible but the game designa and music is beautiful

Golden Axe can from this producer's studio btw.  As did Iron Man.  Maybe we should be thankful he's not interested in Wii content...

It was a pretty fun thread, then you had to go and murder it.

Well, I hope you're pleased with yourself.

ROFL true. Also it's nice to note that Bayonetta is only out in Japan at the moment. Oh and Yakuza 3 doesn't come out in NA until March (not sure about europe). Hmmm nearly half a million on the tiny install base of the PS3 in Japan alone? I would say I am more than pleased on those sales, too bad I can't say the same for good games like Madworld and great gems like Muramasa: The Demon Blade. :)

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

Bayonetta's going to bomb.  Actually, this same producer said he doesn't know how it can appeal to western markets.  He also called Yakuza a niche game... funny, when he talks about M-rated HD Sega games, the excuses seem to start flying. ;)

Most of those games haven't gotten worldwide releases yet btw.  Including MadWorld.

Oh come on... I am a Wii only owner... I love my console of choice. It has great games and so on.. , but I am sick & tired of devs and publishers complaining about their games not selling on the Wii. Quit whining please.
I played TC for some time, it did not interest me at all. You're asking, why exactly Overkill did not sell in the millions like the 2&3 did? Overkill was a full priced game, while 2&3 was $30 from the very beginning. Yes it's that simple.
Madworld on the other hand, gosh, it was fun, but Sega gave us europeans the short end of the stick... Two black bars? Why not full widescreen. S**k it.
As s.b else wrote COD: WAS sold aroun 1.3 million and continues to sell, and
COD:MWR is already at around 400k, only thanks to the word of mouth ( and because it's call of duty ) There was no marketing for Reflex.
So quit whining and start making some effort on the Wii, put some good marketing and miracles will happen, believe me.

The main reason the avg wii game has sold better is mainly bcoz of HOTD..which is pretty much synonymous with rail shooters as it gets... other wii titles have sold on par with the HD twins or lower.. SEGA not going M on the wii prolly has to do more with casual/other games selling better, for eg. Super monkey ball, sonic unleashed, Mario and sonic olympic series. Clearly SEGA is being a lil greedy here but honestly I cant blame them.
A M wii title cant really be ported to any other console(ps360pc) or vice versa.. so its a bit of a gamble..
They have produced some real treats this generation.. I dont agree with this new direction but I can see their point of view...

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

There will always be an excuse as to why good to great quality "mature" games don't sell on wii like they do on the HD twins, no one will admit the obvious. That it's a machine that caters to a different audience, it's simple, it's obvious. But no, it's because marketing, or it's niche, or the weird color scheme, or it's not a popular game director anyway, or that's just not a popular genre, or ect. There will always always always be a reason other than the obvious one.

No, actually I'd say the opposite:

There will always be an excuse from publishers as to why certain "mature" games don't sell on the Wii like other "mature" games do, none will admit the obvious. That they don't have the same appeal, marketing or brand name as the "mature" games that have sold well. But no, it's because the Wii has a different audience, or that they only care about first party games, or that the hardcore Wii owners have shifted to buying PS3/360 games. There will always be a reason other than the obvious one.
