Forums - Sony Discussion - Do you find good news for PS3 these days seems to be followed by bad news?

I apologize to everyone for making this thread. When I get back I plan on spending most of my time in the Gaming and Microsoft forums trying to create and take part in constructive discussions and not making lame threads like this one.

FF13 is only out in japan.

1.5M is pretty good for 1 country

I think you're wrong. FF13 is fine, sales in line with the rest of the series pretty much, on lower userbase (although probably higher costs, so less profit, but that's another argument)
The PS3 news is not 'good', it's just better. At least sony is probably about to make some money, although not enough to offset the losses of the start of the generation.
Microsoft, despite lower sales, has a much sounder buissness model, and will probably come out of this generation with more money than sony, and vastly better market growth compared with last generation (Microsofts grew, Sony's dropped by a lot.)
Financials aside, this has been a awsome year for gamers on the PS3, and they probably don't care about how much money it makes, as long as it doesn't force sony out of the buissness, which seems unlikely.

I blame Wii Fit...+!!!

I think he means that every success the Ps3 has comes with an equal sacrifice.

Example. The PS3 Slim was selling like hot cakes and is still keeping good sales even after the sales died down a little. However, every PS3 sold is at a loss. Sony then relies on their software royalties for profit, not the sales of the console. This has been discussed in another thread where Kaz Hirai stated it.

Now, Sony has pushed out some great games this year, Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, Demons Souls etc. however these games don't sell huge numbers which are needed for profit, so the losses grow.

Just little things like that. I wouldn't say that all good news is followed by bad news, but I will say that Sony is putting alot on the line and sacrificing alot to try and succeed.

What nonsense. The PS3 sold 1 million the last charts and sales are dying? Look at the last 4wks of PS3 sales show me the sales decline.

You are talking from where the sun don't shine.

If this is the case then what of the systems that sell less than the PS3 since the slim? They must be dead.

What crap about U2 not making profit, how the hell do you know U2 and K2 hasn't made a profit? Have you seen the accounting books?

More crap pulled from where most of your post came from.

Sony might not be profitable overall but to list a succesful game like U2 that is still selling well (and no one know the LTD sales) as being an assist in these losses is....I won't use the word.

I have nothing against anyone knocking any console but to bring all this made up false bullshit is annoying.

Edit: You said PS3 was selling like hotcakes and refered to sales being "still good" when it sold 1m in a week (it's biggest week ever).

I may have misunderstood your first sentence and apologise.

The rest stands.

I am not going to argue with you. It will simply be a waste of my time, and yours.

I have edited my original post.

I am not a fanboy or a creator of made up facts.

As I said made up facts annoy me regardless of what console they are aimed at.

Either way you carry on thinking of me as a fanboy and I will continue to think of you as a fact-fixer.

Peace.

Bleedin DOOM!.All this Arse gravy and baby batter doesn't change the fact that PS3 is doing allot better than the naysayers would have you believe.

Its also doing a lot worse than what the positive Peters would have you believe too! Bear in mind that anything Sony does is grossly exagerated for the good or bad.

Tease.

@Mario64: Well, it's going to take quite a while before PS3 is successful, it likely isn't ever going to be. Or a while before it starts turning profit. If Sony is able to break even with it, it can consider itself very lucky.

If a console which is selling one million a week is still not considered successfull then I guess the console which sold 600k the same week (and sold less than the first every year from launch in aligned sales) must be a terrible failure  ?
