Massive drop for PS3.

Looks like NSMB Wii basically nullified any gains the PS3 made with FF13 and then some.

Never underestimate the power of Mario, especially 2D Mario.

yeah you're probably right source, after first day to first week sales i thought maybe the legs were gonna be better than i thought, but 2nd week drop is quite big even for a FF title. 2M is certainly not certain.

The Final Fantasy games have never had legs. They tend to have a quick drop off in week 2 and continuing smaller sales each week. This is normal for this kind of game.

i know that quite well, but this is the first FF game to be released during the holidays.  Also the first day to first week sales were actually quite good compared to FF 12 and 10.  That's when i thought that maybe the legs would be good, but it's looking like it will be the same as ever.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

wow, it seems that the lightning bundles had a huge effect on hardware. I never expected it to drop that much.

^Sure can, Famitsu and MC often have wide discrepancies

In software, the hardware is usually quite close together.

I've seen hardware disparities before, although the large disparities are rare, we'll just have to wait and see, I'm certain ioi will make any necessary adjustements

As much as i love vgchartz it has to be said.  Every other week vgchartz releases numbers after MC/famitsu numbers come out, this week because of delays they released numbers before MC/famitsu.  Many people have forgotten  but this has happened before too.

But maybe it's TOO high, I think Nintendo should stop making Wii's for a while and give Sony a chance to make some ground.

ah i expected more from the Wii. Still good, and PS3 as expected drops well, but way above last year's level. Good week all in all.
