Forums - Sony Discussion - PSP-2001 not playing Star Wars Battlefront game on UMD

My original PSP broke about a year ago, so when I got it fixed it was working and everything, however I just put in Star Wars Battlefront 2 and the game loaded on the XMB however after the PSP logo it did not start, the screen was blank and the PSP didnt do anything? Has anyone else experienced these type of problems with thier PSP?? If so then whats wrong with mine???

the disk is broken , or maybe dirty , you should clean it.

You can also crack open the protecting case and clean it that way... tough be cerafull, its pretty delicate The issue is certainly with the disc. If the FW would be the problem, then it warns you with an error screen. And seeing that every other game works, I doubt that the PSP is malfunctioning...

Not to be a dick but your PSP is 2000 which in this case is a PSP Slim not a "2001" those do not exist

And to help you out, I would open the PSP case and clean the disc that way if your PSP isn't spitting out a error code then its not the PSP hardware itself but the disc. After cleaning it and the problem still exists take the game back and get an exchange for another.
