Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Half Life 2 using Natal....

Looks like it doesn't work too well, notice it takes him several tries just to press a button (to transport the potted plant). Still, they may be able to fix it, but I doubt Natal will be good for anything but casual games. But the PS3 might work for this type of game. Disclaimer:  I have a PS3! But don't you feel that Natal is going to seriously bomb? Can't wait to see what happens with it, one way or another.

This is a 'shot' in the foot for Natal.

Dude that looks sick!

video quality sucks

Sorry, but that looks way better than I thought it would be.

Half Life 2 is a first person shooter made for mouse and keyboard controls, which can be ported to a controller if needed. For Natal developers will have to think outside of the box, a FPS could be possible but not in the traditional sense. Perhaps with less extreem movement and more dodging. Or perhaps with more auto aim, where you simply point and stretch your arm to shoot and the actual hard part fo the gameplay is the dodging and not the shooting. For that I would but Natal because I'm tired of FPS that are just about pointing and shooting.

Natal could still be a succes but Microsoft has a lot of work to do, they need to make it interesting for developers that are currently making 360 games and they also need to convince Wii developers to make kids games for the 360. Only if Natal is accepted by both mainstream and hardcore gamers will it be a succes and actually help the 360. Because if it doesnt attract the mainstream gamer then nothing is gained as the 360 is already a succes among hardcore gamers.

Like I said, see how much trouble he has just pressing a button to transport the potted plant...

Can't tell much from that terrible quality video... looked a bit tedious though.

Checked the vid again and I must say I'm actually getting excited, I knew that some Natal could work with some games but if a regular FPS can work this well then imagine if they make a game that is designed for Natal.

Again this is a game that is not designed for Natal, a Natal game could have a certain hand movement like holding up three vingers to push a button, that way you wouldnt actually have to point at a specific location.
