Can we establish the fact and yes I said fact that GOOD MMOs have subscriptions?
This game WILL have a monthly fee, if you arent expecting this or dont believe me the this game is not for you.

Depending on how the beta impressions go I might get it but im way more excited for Everquest Next

Well, not all good MMOs have subscriptions, there are some decent F2P. And not all subscription games are good. But, as a general rule, all the "major" MMOs have subscriptions.

Haven't even heard about EQ next, when's that coming out? *goes to look it up*

I won't play an MMO unless they use the Guild Wars pricing approach (a game every year for about what you'd pay for a year's subscription, so you can say "nah, I'll buy that later" and get more for your money).

$60 for a game vs $15/month for a subscription...

yeah.. sounds about what you'd pay for a year's subscription....

Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos

Online Final Fantasy does not interest me at all. They're just using a brand name to help push their new MMORPG.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that, I just wished they were called FFO1 and FFO2 or something (Final Fantasy Online of course). It kind of messes up the numbering system to me.

But, as long as it's good, does it matter if they're using the name for that?

True enough. FFO1 sounds good to me. I don't like the number mess up either.

I'm playing it regardless, lol. FFXI was awesome back in the day.

  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.

if they make it like free realms then i will buy it.

All F2P mmos have a gamebreaking cash shop. Of course for who the cash shop is game breaking is debatable, but anyone who dedicates at least an hour per day on an mmo will feel the unfairness once put in enough time. Not to mention you might end up spending more money on cash shop than you ever would on a subscription.
