@heruamon : yet MS lost billions in Xbox 1 fiasco and RROD... MS is not that successful since everybody now is talking about firing Steve Ballmer.

It's killed by Apple with its Zune, it's killed by Google on the net, and now even 360 sales are behind its more expensive competitor, and Vista failed too...

In recent years, MS is hardly a successful company.

The company post $3-5 BILLION in profit each and every quarter, and has $30 BILLION in cash reserves...what's your measure of success?

Xbox 1 was a fiasco, it was a company breaking into a tough business that no US company had been able to, and a software company did it.  RROD was a debacle, but they crunched their way thru it, and Xbox customers are satisfied enough to remain wit hthe brand...btw...the original Xbox pioneered online gaming for consoles, which sony is still trying to get to.

Ipod is handily beating Zune, but it was a longshot for M$ to get into the field anyway...as a matter of fact, Ipod has SMASHED Sony's walkman far worst than it has damaged Zune, so go and chech your product history.  Vista was so-so, not a failure, but Windows 7 is blazing ahead, so what's your point.  M$ is still making billions in profits this is best you can come up with?  As I said, you'll need to get a clue before trying to discuss financials.

A. Dreamcast pioneered online.

B. Sony broke into it in november of '06

lol. look at microsoft's track record. they ain't even that great. only in 2008-2009 years that MS posted profits on their xbox division, but nobody is talking about how MS lost billions in the first xbox and are now just starting to make the money back?

BS....

Sony will be fine, and as long as they put out amazing products, they will still have my money and support. =]

@ heruamon-  Well what he said is a little true.. MS isnt doing as great as before. That dosen't mean they are doing bad by any means, but compared to before, they are doing very bad actually.

@heruamon : a successful company is a company which manages to get dominant positions when it has loads of cash, which MS was unable to do in any market in the recent years.

The only reason MS is still a giant despite all their mistakes is they had 2 cash cows which are Windows and Office. No other company than MS could have wasted the sums of money MS wasted in vain and still be huge.

A good indication a company is not successful is when its CEO gets fired, like Steve Ballmer is about to be.

A. Right...Dreamcast did it...yup...lol.  How's that service coming along now, can I go sign-up for it?

B. Show me the profits of Sony vs. M$ over the last 10 years.  WOW...Sony launched the Walkman in 2006...I must have been in timewarp when I saw the walkman back in the 80's.

...its funny... you should take your own advice..

"As I said, you'll need to get a clue"

Introduce me to Louis and Clark and I'll show you how to sign up

A. That's not the point he made. The point is MS wasn't first in online, since Dreamcast already had online functionalities. So we can agree your sentence "MS pioneered online" was completely wrong.
