Forums - Gaming Discussion - Wired FFXII review, not so good.

It's FF. People said FFXII sucked...I loved it. People said FFVIII sucked...I loved it. I'll be getting day 1 even if it scores a meta 0f 60% to play it for myself. I've seen what the author is talking about because I've been watching FFXIII streams on justin.tv, however, FFX was similar to this and still rocked so I see no reason to be concerned now.

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

I hate grinding.

I haven't played FF yet (not until tomorrow) but in KH, I defeated Sephiroth 23 times to level up.

That was long and boring. I can't see the appeal of repetition.

If FF7, 8, 9, or 10 makes me grind for hours, I will hurt someone.

Multi-barred boss fights are almost never the most efficient ways to level up, even when they do provide experience

Why would you level up with Sephiroth of all fights

Because he gives eactly 18000 exp, and, quite conveniently, that is the exact amount of exp needed to advance a level past like level 70.

He is the only replayable optional boss that gives such an enormous amount of exp. The Ice Titan gives only 5000 and he takes far longer to defeat. Sephiroth is rather basic when you get the hang of him and shouldn't take more than 3 or 4 minutes to beat at high levels.

Basically, the amount of heartless needed to get 18000 exp is... a lot and incredibly time consuming.

At level 76, or something like that, it really only took like 5 minutes, but multiply that by 23 and you get 2 hours.

Albeit, that isn't too bad, but that's still annoying.

But yeah, Sephiroth was in fact the most efficient way to level up considering he gets really easy after 10 battles. At like level 40 though, it is the worst way.

Confession time:

I never beat the Ice Titan. Could not be assed to do it.

I know

But I was in the 30's (I think - this was like five years ago) and it took FOREVER and getting hit three or four times was death

That boss is easy.

How much EXP does the last 10 rounds of the best cup tournament (forget what it was called...Hades Cup I think?) There's a crapton of heartless you can fight in the later rounds.

The ENTIRE Hades Cup leveled me up once at higher levels.

Ice Titan is not easy, harder than Kurt Zisa and Phantom. His freaking freeze moves are annoying, and ice dropping on you from every which way. Oh my god, annoying.

lol no, Kurt Zisa and Phantom are way harder.

Phantom is easy as hell.

Stopping the clock is CUMULATIVE, meaning I can cast Stopra 29 times and it won't move until Sunday. All it is basically pick the correct magic and you win! You don't even need to press attack, Peter Pan attacks for you.

Kurt Zisa is somewhat hard, but honestly, Tinker Bell and Aeroga at the beginning, Elixirs, and simple dodging will easily beat him. The only annoying thing is the spinning move. I beat him at level 50ish first try.

LOL @ Vanilla :P

and everyone says the game is pretty linear up to the first half, so I'm not even gonna read the entire "complete review"

Wow, this thread has really be derailed.

^That's how awesome Kingdom Hearts is.
