Forums - Gaming Discussion - Rewiev scores - 0-100 or 0-10?

So, which one is better? People seem to wish games should be rated only with scale of 0-100, but does it matter so much? With scale 0-10, 10 equals 95+ in 0-100 scale and everybody knows, that it doesn't really matter, if the game is rated 95 or 99 (in this case, i equal 99 with 100). Or if you want to be more accurate, you can rate with a scale, which uses a half points accuracy, when ten equals 98+, or 0,25 points accuracy, when ten equals 99+ (which practically is 100). Practically, one or two points, in 0-100 scale, shouldn't matter to anyone but fanboys. Of course, sites like gamerankings, should use as accurate scale as possible (currently 0/00), to rank the games based on their rewiev score. So, is 0-10 enough, or should 0-100 be used, and why?

0 of 0 > all~

But I don't think it matters between 100 & 10. You can always do 9.6, 8.6, etc....and it is the same thing. I haven't seen any reviewers get into the minutia enough to actually give a score like 86.37 or anything though so it really seems to be the same thing only the increment scale is different.

Doesn't matter what score system they use, only the content should count ;)

0-100, because if you look at OoT's reviews, half it's reviews review with the 0-10 system, which is responsible for lowering it's score off of a possible over-all rank of 98.5%+.

Some sites have 9 as the second best score possible, gamerankings will convert that to a 90%.

I prefer 0-4 stars for rankings. Then people will actually look at the review, instead of relying on a single number to tell them if a game is good or not.

People always complain when a game gets a "perfect score" on 0-10 or 0-100. Or if a site give a point lower than the average on their favorite game, they are up in arms. People need to get past the numbers and read the reviews.

I perfer 0-100. If only because it uts down on perfect scores, and causes more differential between scores and games. It lets you set up a better distribution of points per category per genre of game to get yourself more unbiased ratings.

I prefer 0-10, but the IGN style, with a .0 behind it. makes for much better accuracy than 10 (not enough) and is much easier to read than 100 (percentages???? Is that something edible?). seriously, 10.0 is the best.

 Isn't 0.0 to 10.0 the same as 0 to 100?

I was thinking that 0,0-10,0 would equal 0-100.

The bad thing about 0-100 scale is, that people look at one point differencies, which really are meaningless, and use it as a proof, that which one is better. With 0-10, you can give a "perfect", 99%, game a ten and still you can give 10 to a not perfect, as good as the one before, 98% game a ten also.
