I still have my Xbox and PS2 and I've kept those for over five years. I've also kept my Famicom for over 20 years now, plus other consoles that have far over five years' life in them, and guess what? They are still loads of fun. To whoever asked the topic question, if you are looking at hardware alone, buy anything you please. If you want to have *fun* with your gaming, make sure you buy the console that has the game(s) you will spend quality time with. Hardware, in this case, is very, very secondary.
