Its still hard to know. I can't commend on raw figures - but the legs have been excellent, even given the post-Xmas drop.

This entire exercise really makes me *appreciate* publishers a lot more - there is a heap of work that goes into promoting a game (esp. a new one!).

Our marketing plan for Flowerworks is really just beginning - we hope to keep it running basically indefinitely.

it looks like wiiware games tend to have long legs anyway. old stuff like world of goo, defend the castle, my life as a king, ect are still on the popular charts (or at least some of them before the demo's came out to hog the top 5 spots.). they could be selling decently for months or years to come.

Yeah, but the top titles have a massive unfair advantage. Once you become a well established name, AND get the best-seller list - you tend to stay there. Its like the AppStore - the top#20 titles (approx) generate 80% of the revenue.

The challenge is for everyone else...

I just saw an add for this game on this site. It was where the world of warcraft add usually is. After I clicked a link it went away and the WOW add is back.

Yup, we have started a marketing campaign here on VG. Its a rotating ad, so people will randomly get it. I won't see it - as its US visitors only.

About to start a Flowerworks Euro thread as well - should be interesting...

Any idea when the big sites are going to get of there arses and release reviews for the game?

No idea :(

Unfortunately, I've been way to busy to spend time chasing them down (again).

Still expecting 3 extra reviews in the pipeline, including a VG one...

Two more reviews out (since the OP), and its holding its average score of 8.3 - its actually moved up the WiiWare ratings (a couple of titles slipped down a point or two), and is just outside the top#5 at the moment :)

Anyway - not like it matters, still only got the 2 reviews on Metacritic - I doubt Flowerworks will ever end up with enough reviews to show up on the main page (and only the weaker review scores have been picked up to date :P).

I've been trying to get our reviewers to get a review up for a while now but it keeps getting pushed back.
