Well I tried the demo and it was really fun to play....I agree with your points, found this much better than DMC...

It is. And its as fun to listen and watch as it is to play. lots and lots of cutscenes...with kickass style and...spunk...lol.

Think of style of Godhand and No More heroes and then multiply by 5.

Is it as tight and as fluid and as technically sound as God Hand, though?

I spent a long time on ign's new site looking for a review and was thinking "their new interface is horrible, I can't seem to find where they keep the review for the game."

Then I noticed it came out in 2010. Silly me. That being said, I don't see much promise in a game that so obviously is relying on sex appeal. I can't remember the last good game that relied on sex appeal for the main character.

Having something and relying on it are two different things my friend, and you should learn to differentiate.

It has the potential to be. Keep in mind I only played the game itself for 30-40 minutes due to cutscene overload.

It has a different approach as with godhand you started off very basic but as you progressed you built up your combos. Bayonetta explodes with 300 different combos and many ways of attack which you slowly need to master. Luckily the load screen has the whole combo list and wil show you which combos you are doing as you are bashing buttons. That way it sticks with you what they are...and you can learn which are best for which type of enemy.

Or you could just put it on easy and button mash through the game...but yeah, im sure at some point the game will call you a panzy if one does that.  ;)

I was really impressed by the Demo. Felt way more fluid than DMC4 to me, almost like a whole new type of game. Also, I love that super stylized Japanese storytelling that plays it fast and loose with heaven and hell. Hoping it will be an amazing game.

@disol.

i disagree.

ive tried both demos on ps360, game was jibberish and not that good. in fact it seems to be suspiciously overhyped.

i doubt it very much i will buy it as the game is run of mill.

I don't understand how you can call the game "run of mill."

I mean, I understand now liking the artstyle...and even the gameplay, because there is no accounting for taste, but how in the hell is this an ordinary run of the mill game, lol? If anything, it's a crazy over the top, sexist beatemup from the guy who invented the genre in its modern form.

Here is my prediction. DMC4 will look like a steaming pile of garbage when stacked up against this game when it is finally released, on the 360.

Now, I'm NOT impling that anyone in this thread is guilty of this, in fact, I think these are ALL honest opinions here, because I know these people are above petty fanboyism, but it is worth noting that a lot of fans are upset because the PS3 version is an inferior port, and because Bayonetta is competing against God of War III, not in sales, but certainly in quality. There will be a certain amount of backlash against this game, much of it from people who never even played it, or the demo.

Sony themselves took an interest in the US port of this game. The first two critical reviews of this game were perfect scores from two different sources, each of which are VERY difficulty to obtain and neither of which have promoted 20 games to that level, since gaming began. The game is made by the creator of Devil May Cry, the game which invented the subgenre of which Ninja Gaiden I and II, DMC 1-4, Rygar, The modern 3d Castlevania series, Dante's Inferno, and GoW 1-3 are a part of. The demo, which is never indicative of a games final quality, has recieved rave impressions, and 1up has said they would express nothing short of amazement if Bayonetta wasn't one of the best action games this year.

We know the game is going to be great. Anyone who doesn't at least accept that as a possibility, hasn't been following the games reception or its lineage. I refuse to accept that a significant amount of our members are that out of touch. I'd assumed that everyone who posted here would know at least as much about the game as I just outlined. :P

When all is said and done Bayonetta will take alot of people by surprise and will definately be one of the best of 2010. The demo impressed me enough to preorder which I rarely do.

Demo was good and fun. But not must have.

Not sure what to make of "most stylish game ever made". Style is a matter of opinion. I wasn't wowed by the style so my opinion on stylishness is obviously different to yours. Given I played the demo on the PS3 the game is of a technically reasonable quality, but doesn't stand out from the crowd. Could be that its technical superiority on the 360 makes it vastly more impressive and it is that amazing on this system; I'm unlikely to ever find out.

There were also some niggly little annoying things about it that aren't about graphics quality or gameplay, and I guess that's something to do with style, which is why I don't rate the style as highly as some people obviously do.

I do wish it success though, because it is a fresh addition to the game world.

Well put...

I wasn't going to touch the PS3 port aspect or God of War 3 aspect because

1. I am hoping they fix the minor issues with the PS3 version for EU/US release or that people can look passed that

2. Now that I played this game I can honestly say that God of War 3 doesn't really compete with this.

There is so much variety in this game and the set pieces are so wild that I really can't think of a single game that it competes with. Even DMC...if you were to compare the two, DMC4 just looks boring and predictable compared to this.

Here is an example of what I mean. Out of nowhere...the game will present a mini shooter bonus game. "Beat this for a reward!" So you sweat your ass off to kill as many creatures as you can, and once you are done you get...a green lollypop. LOL. Reminds me of Kojima and his off the wall work in th early MGS days.

Honestly, leting go of Clover studio is a big loss for Capcom. I mean they replaced the brilliance of Viewtiful Joe, Killer 7, REsident Evil 4, God Hand and Okami last gen with...Dead rising and...words "It has Co-op!" this gen.

i like the demo more than the dmc4 demo. might not sell as well as it should. so the game might hit bargain price sooner which is good for poor gamers like myself.

Well said, very well said, this game is amazing and deserves to be known, you see it was the same back in the day with Chaos Legion VS DMC1/2 everyone totally looked pass CL because DMC already made the genre popular at the time.

But it seems Bayonetta will be a full rival to DMC that Chaos Legion could never do sad to say, but that matters little now because NOW with Bayonetta on the rise, the japanese devs like Capcom, Sega and maybe even Square Enix will give more attention to the Hack n' Slash / Action Genre.
